If there are any 56kers left in CS this one will knock them on the head! I suppose this means my collection of models will go and I'll have to re-install them. <_<

From the CoFRforum:
ok new update cbble has changed, its a lot brighter , they have added some door textures. nuke you can no longer break the box by the windows vertigo is completely fuxored , now needs wad file which I dont have. airstrip dunno, dont know map well enough to notice any differences. These maps have been removed from FR25 mapcycle and this came from the steam forums Crosshairs are bigger... the 4 "sticks" they make up the crosshair have been enlongated, and spread apart a little farther. If you used cl_dynamiccrosshair 0 and had a high resolution you were used to really small, compact crosshairs. Those days are gone. There are, however, many many more crosshair colors, some are darker and stand out more, this I like The headshot icon is gone, and now it shows you gun, then a huge skull with a hole in its head or something, then the enemy's name. The awp crosshair seems different, and the first zoom doesn't seem to zoom in much at all. If you are scoped with AWP and you switch to pistol after you fire, and then back to AWP, this used to be a faster way to unscope/rescope. Now, if you fire and switch to pistol, back to awp, you have to wait 1-2 full seconds before you can scope again. cl_radartype 0 is regular, cl_radartype 1 is opaque and easier to see. when you spectate someone that gets flashed, you the spectator is flashed as well Flashes don't cancel each other. That's about all I have noticed so far, someone said that the box on nuke isn't breakable anymore?

If you're having radar issues just download a radar sprite from somewhere (or grab one if you still have a pre-Steam CS installed - it'll be in the sprites folder called radar640.spr) and slap it in your sprites folder (make one in the cstrike folder if you dont' have one already), renaming it to radaropaque640.spr.
edit: I have no clue at all why cadaver's image looks like that - it makes no sense, but having the correct sprite in the sprites folder will fix it.

After playing cs for a few days with the new update i have to say its terrible!!! i cant hit a thing with the new hairs and im not even sure if the guns like ak47,m4 are more accurate when crouched like they us to be! the hairs curtainly dont get smaller. I get more headshots just running round like a chicken (no change there then!). Why oh why are they the same size in 640 x as they are in 1600 x this is rediculas i have had to drop my resolution so i am not fitting about 3 people in the hairs at long distance...
moan over! :(

An update to the update has fixed the crosshairs and removed the new headshot icon.
Good news on the crosshairs but I kinda liked the HS icon :(

Sorry to dredge this one up from the depths. If you use the CS|RU pack and want the solid radar option from the update a few weeks ago, I've been reliably informed you can do this:

I had to remove CSRU in the end as I couldn't stand the way the models shot in a different direction to to way they appeared to be aiming on screen.
Fixed me radar too. ;)

Yeah, that's annoying isn't it? The guys that put the pack together are aware of that 'feature' and it should be fixed when they release the next version.
I've stuck with it for the moment. If only because I really like the graphical/sound improvements it gives to the game overall.

There's nothing to stop you using CSRU and then overwriting player modles, weapons etc with your favorites from CS Nation :)

It's very easy to recompile models to use the correct animations (thus getting past the looking in the wrong direction issue). The hardest part is setting up the tools, but this tutorial I wrote over on the Natural Selection forums back in my HL modelling days can be adapted for this purpose. Just pull out the reference mesh(es) and the textures from the model you want, and compile it with the animations from the default 1.6 player models. It might sound a little tricky, but after you've done it once it's a doddle.
http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/in...ST&f=19&t=27213 (http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=19&t=27213) The tools you'll need for decompiling and recompiling are easy enough to track down, but I also attached them to my modelling FAQ: http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/in...showtopic=20223 (http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=20223) - I do not know if you need to be logged in to the forum to download attachments though. The FAQ also contains instructions for setting up the tools. Oh, I guess another hard part would be to acquire the default animations. Search for a little program called GCFscape and you can pull the models out of the CS .gcf file if need be. If all this is unclear (and if you want to try it out) just ask me to elaborate or PM me, or whatever.
