How VAC Works?
i. The latest version of VAC is downloaded by your computer every time you join a secure server.
ii. VAC works by scanning your memory for cheats while you are playing a game.
iii. If it finds a cheat, it reports your STEAM_ID / STEAM Login back to Valve.
iv. At some randomly short amount of time in the future, usually a few days, just to suck you right in, and to let you get confident that you are not getting caught, VAC will ban you.
v. This ban will occur, more often than not, when you try to play next, even though you are not running cheats that time.
vi. That is why you get VAC banned when you haven't even done something recently, all that is happening is your past catching up with you. Yay Valve.
Are there any false positives with VAC?
i. Yes, but they are extremely rare or it really screws up and bans half the STEAM Community, in which case, everybody who was caught by that version that stuffed up, gets unbanned regardless of whether they were legitimately banned or not.

Then don't read it ;) And yes I got it from the 12K forum.
So how does Sadako get his hack through then? Does he just have a whole mess of steam ids and uses a new one each time he's banned?

a)He has hacked the source code and just uses a keygen to get a new one.
b)He is the real guy behind Steam. :o
