Yes BB, that was very ... conclusive.

The "if in doubt delete clientregistry" thing doesn't always work. As well as deciding it can't run Militia it's been giving me the server verification failed error the first time I've tried connecting all night - it works just fine after a retry though.
It's probably just one of those Steam things.

It means there is a problem with your internet connection quality.  Typically if you are in game and try to download a big web page for example you ight get the dreaded cl_flushpacketentity message in the top right of your screen.  Nowt is wrong with the game, just your connection to the server.  If you are not downloading or doing something else to use up your bandwidth then use a tool like pingplotter to see where your problems lie.
