Title: Grrrr. Ongoing connection problems
Post by: Gandalf on April 23, 2002, 11:32:33 PM
Ok, now I'm getting a new message! I've disabled the built in firewall in the router and CS seems a bit happier, but I now get dumped back to the console with a DispatchUserMsg error.

Anyone have ANY ideas!?   o|

Actually, he doesn't have a router.  *I* do!

I updated my Linksys to the latest beta firmware, and it cleared up
the problem.  Firmware v 1.37.1

I'm also now able to host as a result of the 'fixes' in this rev......

Tek."

Googling reveals that this error is tied in with routers.  I'm aware that's not much help... :(

Yeah, that's what I got from google too. I'll mail them and see if they are aware of the prob. Any news on 1.4? Maybe that'll be happier!

Does your router have a DMZ?

It has the facility to have a dmz, but it's not checked as I don't know how to use it yet! I'll rtfm if you think a dmz will make a difference.

It's this router here. http://www.draytek-uk.com (http://www.draytek-uk.com) the Vigor2200USB

Putting your PC in the DMZ effectively takes the router out of the link (for testing purposes).

  because by then I will have MY new router (ASUS AAM6000EV) and woll no doubt have exactly the same problems that you have, but with less understanding of the technicalities!

Look forward to your help then, and good luck in the meantime!

hehe, well if 1.4 don't fix it (and I don't think it will because RtCW crashes too) it's going back to the store and back to ICS for me!
