Title: Errrm, just my 2 cents....

As you all know we have one match per week to focus on. I will be SL and albert will be 2ic. Our aim is to make our squad a well oiled machinery.

Some ideas that I want your feedback on.
  • We should focus on 2-4 maps for matches and get to know the tactics so well that we always "know" what to do. When I and albert challenge on ED we only focus on these maps. The question is which map to select? We all have our preferences and I think we need to discuss this.

Here is one suggestion:
de_train
de_aztec
de_nuke
de_cbble

  • Weapons training - especially sniper weapons, grenades and pistols are something we should put some effort in getting better using. We don't have any 'natural' snipers in our squad and we should try training one or two.

  • Practices - we need to have one day for practice per week (or every other week depending on what we need). We could try and have a match against ghosts or phantoms if possible. I think Sundays (or Thursdays if we have no match) is the best day as we have most if not all avail then.

Nice, but does this detract from what we have the opportunity to do as a whole Company?  This sort of thing should be organised and centralised otherwise there'll be nobody ont he MH playing TCS.

Imagine if we all do this - 4 matches per week, 4 squad practices, 4 squad weapons traiing sessions, 4 squad tests to make sure they absorbed the 'stuff' and loads of people absent form the server all the time.

Before we all go and develop master strategies, can we agree here what we want to do?  The maps and strategy shoudl be coherent across all squads and not developed in isolation.

Weapons training were never intended as a series of separate practices. The idea was to maybe break your pattern of always using the same weapons i.e. buying a scout instead of an ak/colt when playing on MH.

The post suggested to coordinate training sessions with the other squads to avoid the situation you describe. I do still think it is necessary to have training sessions with the squad only. The large training sessions we have had lately haven't been as good as they could have been. Many didn't know the positions because there were too many players around shooting and throwing nades. Scaling down to make sure that all actually knows where to go is something we need to do.

I can 'see' both sides of the arguement. What I don't want to see is the new squad system becoming a divisive tool. Friendly rivalry's fine but let's make sure that it doesn't go beyond that.

I removed the original post earlier and we can finish the discussion here.

One of the reasons for suggesting specific maps within the squad is that I have suggested this for charlie on three separate occasions and it have never been a decision on it. Therefore I thought there were no problem in suggesting this within the squad. Also I think it is easier to agree on a few maps within the squad with only 8 players instead of 3 squads and 24 players.

Here is a suggestion for charlie:

3 (or 2) maps that are the same for all squads e.g. train, inferno, dust 2. Then we have 1 (or 2) map that is specific for each squad

for example
Phantoms - nuke
Ghosts - cobble
Zombie - piranesi

After say 2 months we rotate the specific maps within the squads. That way we will cover 6 maps instead of 3-4. We recieve feedback continously on the tactics and we can update our tactics section.

Another idea I would like to try is to have a weapon of the week within the squad i.e. try to use this weapon when you are on MH. Could be interesting.

What do you think?

Im not sure how the delta team structure will be set up ........ If its like it is now then due to availability we may need to call on any of the charlie members to take up a spot ?
