Title: Steam Issue
Post by: smilodon on June 18, 2004, 10:26:05 PM
1. Steam won't load with the error 'ERROR: eSteamtemporarilyunavailable'
2. Eventually Steam starts and does a few minutes of updating.
3. The update fails and we're back to 1.

4. If the update makes it through then the logon fails.
5. Eventually the logon works and we're into Steam proper.
6. The dMw servers are all not responding.
7. All Steam enabled games are not up to date and will not start.
8. CZ is not ready for offline play and can't be played even in single player.

Ain't life sweet

Not really a server issue at all, so no idea why I chose to post it in here? Anyway I've dumped Steam, CS, CZ & HL and am reinstalling the lot.

There's some serious Steam updating happening on my PC right now though

Well my complete reinstallation of Steam and related games is all proceeding well. :D

Except that Steam seems convinced that I haven't actually got a copy of CZ Deleted Scenes on my PC, and is proceeding to download it from the Net. Still this is Valve we're talking about and nothing with them is an easy ride.  :(

I have had that for a few days smilo! I didn't bother to reinstall and then it would get stuck whilst 'precaching resources' It now seems to work tho ;)
