Yep and I have no idea how to fix it. Although for me it's CS 1.6 not CZ that's causing the problems

Nope I completely reinstalled the lot and everything updated. Then there was this weeks update and everything now shows as not up to date and is unplayable.

I'm about as close as I have ever been to dumping Counter-Strike completely.

It's also running around the Steam forums like wildfire. Loads of people are having the identical problem - the pre-login Steam update fails and/or the post login game update fails and games show as 0% downloaded or stick on something like 98%.

Here's something that seems to be working for me but I'm not there yet, although I am now updating everything.

Go to each game you have installed and select ' do not keep this game up to date' for each of them.

Log off steam

Log on steam

change each game setting to 'always keep this game up to date'

with any luck you can then watch the downloads begin

realise half the world is updating right now and it could take days!

weep

yea, i came across this, basilcally the worst thing u can do is reinstall, caues lots off ppl keep doing this and overload the steam content servers.

Steam keeps running out of bandwidth, ppl start panicking and reinstall.....

It took me about an hour to get the updates to stop them say "game unavailable".

HL needs to be updated aswell as cs and cz.

Apparently there was a gapping big hole that let you install CSCZ as a mod so it didnt need paying for. I think this is why all the games needed to have some sort of update.

Basically keep trying or just wait till later. \Again it took me betwen 40-60 minutes to get it to update.

I really hope they sortout there bandwidth problems befor hl2. They probably just need more content servers hosted elsewhere.

Don't forget the switching from automatic update to no automatic update and back again. This can kickstart the update process.

It took nearlt 24 hrs to update CZ Deleted scenes! Seems the world and his dog are sucking the life out of the STeam servers
