this looks a goody
robot (http://www.irobotmovie.com/)
Yeah. Saw the trailer the other day. Could be the big summer blockbuster.
I, Robot ... and Isaac Asimov turns troubled in his grave. <_<
Troubled....... He's spinning like a top!!!!
Yet again hollywood murder a sci-fi classic!!
The best part of the film is the trick audi they made for him to drive round in.
That looks like a verry nice movie.
hope to see it soon.
Saw the preview the oter day when i was in the cinema looks v good. Tho then i first heard about it i thought of that film AI
As a short comment i thought this film looks promising and i do indeed think it may be as good as will smith's enemy of the state! If you have not seen that yet i suggest you check it out! Anyway back to I robot  It seems to be a gr8 film and for once not as worked up by the media and so may be a great success but there is always the worry they may show all the best bits in the film to make you see it and to find out it is crap like Catch Me If you Can! Hope its a good one tho!
;)
I have to disagree from all I have seen of it they have taken a classic Sci-fi book and ruined it hollywood style so that the end product bears no relation to the book. I suggest you read the book before going to see the "Latest action summer blockbuster movie from hollywood"
Yep this has all the signs of being a Hollywood cop-out, not least because the actual book dealt with some very complex ideas. I can't see a Will Smith vehicle that opens at the hieght of the summer season in the USA and Europe and being a true homage to Asimov's book.
On the other hand it might be a decent action flick in its own right, as long as we can forget the source material.
yeah i would agree to forget about the dam book and watch the flick....
u might be surprised
Then again............
Sorry but I am an avid reader and it does annoy me that Hollywood feels they have to take an idea and dumb it down so that the general public can understand it or so it fits into an "action" movie.
If you have a good imagination reading is one of the most enjoyable things you can do. Note I said one before all the pron type comments start appearing.

Seen it have u ghosty? Personally I was gonna wait till it came out before critiquing it ;) I like Smith and I've seen nothing in the trailer to put me off.
Hollywood has ballsed up a lot of book to celluloid conversions, but not always. LOTR, Jaws, Shawshank, Green Mile, Gone with the wind, Wizard of Oz, LA Confidential, Cool Hand Luke, The Last Picture Show, Doctor Zhivago, Out of Sight........

Pre-release views say Pitt can't carry it the way Crowe carried Gladiator. And it's not just his awful faux-RADA accent.
The gods get virtually no mention - I know it would have been hard to do but it's central to the Iliad.
Odysseus (Bean) apparently gets virtually no screen time and Achilleus and Patroklus' "friendship" is severely "underplayed" (surprise surprise Hollwood dry.gif )
Everything I've heard says it ain't gonna be another Gladiator, but that Cox, O'Toole, and Banna save it from being a disaster.
They shouldn't have messed with a classic story though for the sake of making it "dumbed down" - after all it is the first major piece of western literature ever written, and Gladiator, Ben Hur, and Spartacus didn't need to do it dry.gif
Still, I'll be going to see it given how good the trailers look. What a sucker I am smile.gif
p.s. is it just me but in the Iliad the Trojan Horse and Achilleus' end isn't in the book (and isn't in The Odyssey either?) I thought it happened in another poem. Not sure.
Ohhh you hypocrite ;)
Not really - every film I mentioned above doesn't dumb down. Troy does. My comments that you've quoted were literally ripped from AICN. I actually state that. I was up front enough to say I hadn't seen it, and that I was giving it the benefit of the doubt based on the trailer and source material. What exactly is hypocritical about that <_< Since when did sharing the opinions of others constitute you interpreting it as my own thoughts. Surely my Troy statement's prefixed words "Pre release views say....." would have told you that ;)
On the other hand I've heard nothing about I,Robot being dumbed down or the exact content. Therefore I will reserve judgement until I read any more on it or see it for myself.
Sorry, but you be wrong smilo :narnar:
Having read the source material many times and seen several trailers and reviews I stand by my dumbing down comments with regards to this film.
And no obviously I haven't seen it yet, but I still stand by my comments. Yes the few films that you have mentioned have done justice to the original books but there are far to many out there that hollywood have murdered.

Quick someone call the Sense of Humour Police. There's been a theft.
Unbelievable :) That's the best comeback you got bud ;)
I expected more. So very, very much more ;) ;) ;) Maybe my replacement isn't testing your powers of debate as much as I used to ;) He's probably too busy doing his job
Police Inspector: "My God Sergeant, this must be the work of a master criminal of the first order. The blaggard has only gone and nabbed 'appreciation of sarcastic wit! as well"
Sergeant: "A Master Criminal Guv?"
Police Inspector: "Yes Sergeant. We're going to need help with this one. Of you go now and make haste to number 221b Baker Street. Here's a shilling for the Hackney Cab. We're going to need the help of that master sleuth Mr. Sherlock Holmes if I'm not mistaken."
Sergeant: "Crivens!"
