Title: I'm Stupid

I know if I put my mind to it, I'd understand, I know this doesn't work, but damn my head wants it to

My guess?

All the magnet and plate will do is attract one another placing compressive force on the pole. The car can't move forward as the two points of magnetic attraction are fixed relative so no forward motion would occur.

Sadako'll turn up soon wearing his white lab coat and draw lots of diagrams and formulae on a white board.

Now, where's the Guinness?

im theory it could possibly work but on a much more powerful scale,

i take as my example the tokio [i think, excuse the spelling] tram type trains

works by using magnets that repel each other in order to make the the trains actually float above the tracks, meening that it takes bugger all to propell them as theree is  virtually no friction

nope.

the two forces are fixed to each other....einstien theories etc. equal and opposite, c'mon Sadako, come get all technical on our asses.

(I know physics ain't your real bag)

All that would happen is that the stronger force being the vehicle would be stationary and the magnet would pull straight to the vehicle impaling einstein with the stick.

It's not actually Einstein we should be listening to but Newton. Specifically his 3rd law of motion "To every action there is an equal and oposite reaction"

as the magnet attracts the metel plate it trys to puch the rod back into the person but he holds it in placewhich makes him push against the back of the car but at the same time the metel plate is attracted to the magnet with the same force as he is pusjing against the car if that makes any sense?

GRIM (treying to do Physics A level)

It wouldnt work because you cannot push (force being applied in opposite direction) a car with a stick ..either the stick would snap or your hands would not be able to grip it.

Benny stop being a plank and posting balls to start crap threads ;) i know your game :lmfao:

you dumb asses.... there is no forward motion being applied to the magnet it's self so nothing would move..... its the old trying to lift your own weight while standing in a bucket ploy.

that magnet would be attracted to the car and the car to the magnet but neither would move as they are part of the same structure.... the only way they would come together would be if the pole were to give.

there, that told yas  8)
