To me it is god awful and the story behind it stinks of governmental inability and lack of respect for funding when it isn't coming out of their pockets.
Darn architects. These guys have a certain "vision" of a building in their head. Stuff that "vision" up your ****. Make some decend buildings, not these kind that allways costs way to much and are payed by the people with their taxes. A waste of money!
Now that is truly an awful building. Looks like it was designed by somebody who played with sticklebricks a little too much as a kid.
What's the story with the funding then? Is it another thing I'm 'partially' footing the bill for without knowing about?
Not quite as nice as the Houses of Parliament is it ;)
Nice! It has typical Scottish undertones that mark it out as........................and that's as far as I got :dummy:

I love it! :D There's the makings of a hard right voter if ever I saw it. Keep it up James.
Iv'e jus come back from Edinburgh and to give you an update on the state of things now the bill is expected to be around £410 million. Last time I enquired that was only 20quid less than the whole of Edinburgh (where BB lives and I was brought up). As was mooted before you can spend as much money as you like if you are not accountable, which it seems nobody is. :frusty: :frusty:
I was in Edinburgh last week and had a great view of this mess from the Dynamic Earth building. I think the architect and the people who approved this should be put up against a wall and shot.
There doesn't seem to be any coherency in the design, just a mish mash of boxes and curves in all the wrong places. <_<
The money should have been spent on something beneficial like the health service or public transport. I just can’t imagine how they could have wasted soooo much money on this building (unless they’ve buried it under the foundations). :(

It's real easy:
They're policitans.
They don't give a flying f*$k about you the tax-paying voter.
They do however want a nice comfy office to make themselves feel important.
They know that nobody in their right mind would approve of a £410m new building.
So they agree to tell you it will only cost £40m and people get voted in on that basis.
Once they're in power the rot not just sets in, but entirely dibilitates.
They're politicians. QED.
TL.
Mmhhmmmzzz, we had something over here that's called buildingfraude.
I think the politicians are the bad guys over there....
