I just recieved an e-mail with an attachment (text document.scr) that was a virus.
The mail came from:
TeaLeaf@deadmen.co.uk
Has someone else recieved this? Has someone got access to our deadmen.co.uk adresses?
The deadmen addresses are spread far and wide throughout the web. You should see the amount of spam/crap Oldie and I get from the server for deadmen addies. The email addie in the virus is spoofed - I know it is not from me as I only receive email on that address, I do not send any on that addie. I send from my work email addie and this is monitored by Sophos and updated every hour 24/7.
However their are lots of plain text email addies out there for a virus emailer to use - like this one (http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=sadako%40deadmen.co.uk&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&btnG=Google+Search&meta=) for example. In any case, for someone to get an email 'from' me probably means that someone with me in their email address book has got the virus, not me.
Sorry 'bout the virus anyway though. :(
