Post by: Bunce on July 19, 2004, 01:18:45 PM
You may have read the posts about me trying to get a new email address...

Well, peeps helped and i now have the domain from domaincity //www.digitaltech.co.uk

but i'm really confused now :(

I dont know how to get ... RBunce@digitaltech.co.uk regd and working?
also how do i get //www.digitaltech.co.uk to forward to my webspace? but not actually change in name? ie... i press //www.digitaltech.co.uk but it then goes to //www.aoum84.crap.pipex.rubbish.com ...

I'm sorry for being an idiot, i'm seeking help, honest.

Who did you register it with?

If it is domaincity (as previously recommended) then log in to your control panel and set up your email via the menu to forward to your particular or chosen ISP email addie.

For example:  If your 'real' email addie is rbunce@yourISP.com then the ocntrol panel allows all email to any @digitaltech.com address to be forwarded to you at rbunce@yourISP.com.  Just edit Outlook/OE/Thunderbird etc to show rbunce@digitaltech.com as your from and reply to address.  This way nobody will know you are actually using rbunce@yourISP.com.

As for the webspace, go into the DNS control panel and point it at your hosted webspace by entering the IP address/web forwarding address you have been given.  If you haven't got any hosted the webspace then you have nowhere to point the DNS so give up ;)

All sorted now i think TeaLeaf... was just a long delay in receiving the emails from digitaltech...
