Get it here (http://www.farcry.jolt.co.uk/index.php?page=download.php&action=filenotes&id=3072) if you are in the UK or from here if you are NOT in UK (http://www.farcry-thegame.com/uk/home.php)
There seem to have been lots of issues with this patch. Failures to recertify CD keys being among them. I have logged calls with UBIsoft and the UBI forums are, to say the least, rather active just now :)
i installed it and tried to run campaign and it bails.....thanx BB
There is lots of good support info at the Far Cry Tech Support Forums (http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/6/ubb.x?a=frm&s=400102&f=170106891). Don't panic if the site is slow to load it has good info.
Ubisoft has taken the decision to withdraw this patch due to issues experienced by a number of users. An official statement follows:
"Far Cry patch 1.2 has shown unexpected behaviour on specific hardware configurations. These matters are mainly due to incompatibilities with several optimisations brought lately to the code, with the intent to please a large number of users.
We're currently asking CRYTEK to work on delivering a new patch as soon as possible. Until then we have decided to remove the patch 1.2 from the official UbiSoft websites."
Like I said, it works fine on my copy. :D
Hmm, my standard farcry dont work too well. As soon as i get into the carrier level it exits back to desktop :(
This has to be the first game I have ever played that does not play on my current set-up. It is awful - the frame rate is about 10 FPS. Whatever I do I cannot get it speed up.
Maybe my computer is too old! What do you guys think?
P4 2.66 Ghz
Nvidia FX 5700 Ultra 128 MB
1.5 GB of Ram
Any ideas?
Cheers.
Doo
I got P4 2.53 with FX5900 and 1 Gb RAM (PC2700) and it runs fine at 1024x768. get DX 9c and the latest (61.77) drivers from nVidia site

Thanks BlueBall, I already and the latest (61.77) drivers and downloaded DirectX 9c - but no luck, the game still remains choppy and slow. Oh well! :(
Cheers again,

Check you do not have too much antialiasing and anisotropic filtering applied. Set the display drivers to "Application Controlled" and set quality to either performance or quality (not high quality).
Using the Far Cry configuration tool I have 1024x768@32bit colour with anti aliasing set to low, texture quality to medium, texture filter quality set to bilinear, anisotropic filtering set to 2 and everything else set to high.
Grpahics look fine and plays ok.
HTH?
Also, don't worry about turning detail settings down if you have to - it still looks pretty awesome on low detail.
Sorry to dig this up but does anyone happen to experience a huge FPS drop when using Cryvision? (NVG's for the rest of us)
Mmm, haven't noticed. Don't use it too often but I'll try to remember to check next time I play it.
Could jus be my crappy PC ;)

Not at all. :)
God doesn't this game go on? I'm going to do what the rest of you do and play games on 'easy' in future. 8)
I notice my fps increases when I use cryvision. Nothing like a bit of consistency across systems eh?
