I've tried and I see no difference.

No dancing hamsters, scantily clad wimmin, next week's lottery numbers, nuffink.

You will need to get DirectX9c compliant drivers for your card as well as having a DirectX9c capable card. The nVidia 61.76/61.77 drivers are 9c compliant but as I have an FX5900 I get no real benefit (other than having some slightly newer DirectX version)
