people intrested in pint glasses should post here.
im going to go and get quotes on it tomorrow.
I WILL NOT POST THESE NO WAY AM I POSTING GLASS PPL AT THE LAN ONLY!
im thinking of of something simple

THESE GLASSES WILL BE IN THE REGION OF £10......i know its a bit pricey its just that doing custome work on a small scale is generally pricey, i negotiated this down from sdomewhere in the region of £15.   any money that it made on top of the production costs will go straight to the server fund.

i imagen it will be a pint glass with the stuff etched into the glass.

I got a personalised  crystal tankard which cost around 50£. So 10 isnt bad at all (ok i aint crystal but still.)

what sort of ping glass we look at?

i dont know if each individual one could be personalised, i will have to check with the bloke that will be doing the etching, i already got him down quite a bit on the price as hge is just going to do it as a gap fill job.  i just need to get some pint galsses. im reconing on doing 24of them as thats how many pint glassas you get in a box.

Sheepster - I really don't mind whether the are engraved or printed.  From an artisitc point of view it may be easier to get a design for printing that is a ltitle more exciting than what it is possible to engrave on a glass.  I'd be happy to go with whatever you decide.  You coudl even ask Smite (or someone) to come up with a design if you went down the printing route?

I think this is a good idea. Even though I am not attending the LAN I would be interested. Albert will supply the money. ;)

I think the above is sound and would go with that Sheepy. You are doing all the hard work and I wouldn't let it drag on to long.

the glasses from the webby that doggers posted will work out at £9.64 per glass after everythink. so price would still be £10.

breakdown is as follows

>Large tankard supplied in presentation carton. Engraved in 1 position
>
>20 x £6.20 each

>Origination £25.00 per design    - this is to make the template  we will only need one of these as they will all be the same.

>Postage £15

>vat @17.5%

this is all based on getting 20 people intrested, so we need a few more to sign up

my only fear is that it may be to big to get it all clear

the glasses are etched

the names will not be legible at all so these need to be scrapped  but otherwise the designs are fine, lets get em done asap.

i personally think that just leaving the atendees off would be fine

we dont have a lot of space to play with

maybe leaving the shield off and just putting lettering, I NEED VIEWS ON THIS VERY SOON AS I NEED TO GET THEM DONE

Drop the attendees - it would be nice but unless we are ordering a stein instead of a pint glass there'll not be room.

I don't mind if we keep or lose the shield, I'll go with whatever.  If we end up going for a text version then we could expand the text a bit more due to the extra space?

The trouble is Benny that there may be no 'back' to a cylindrical drinking vessel.

Seriously though, if it is a mug then most etching is usually done on the side opposite the handle so that the handle does not get in the way of the etching tooling etc.  So there may be no back into which to insert said preferred saying.

I have paid for the glasses today by direct credit transfer.  The total was £206.10.

As the company used do not take credit cards(!) I had to transfer hard cash to them to get the order confirmed.  
Sheepy is in charge of the money collection, so:
If those who ordered glasses could arrange to pay Sheepy ASAP it would be much appreciated as I can then be refunded!

£10 per mug. that leaves a few pence spare on each one to give the server fund a few quid at the end of it.  i cannot accept anythink incomming at the moment, as i dont want to put deadmen money in myt account, i will be setting up another accound soon and will send round details for check/money transfer if u want to pay b4 the lan.   but right at this moment i cant handle it!!!  give me a few days

Sheep PM the people with your acc number and sort code and they can transfer. Everyone who is getting one is trustable to a certain extent....

It's a lot of hassle to set up an account just for a one off payment.

benny being unemployed at present my personal account is in a sh!t state.

i dont want to get deadmen payments mixed up.   also i have been meaning to set up a 2nd account for a while. to be used as a savings account which it will be after all the deadmen money has been moved out.
