These cards have been pre-modded by ourselves enabling all 16 pipelines which offers a considerable performance increase over standard X800 Pro 12 pipeline card.
For improved overclocking results and increasing your chances of running at X800 XT clock speeds we recommend you invest in the Arctic Cooling VGA Silencer Rev3. and Vantec Copper BGA Ramsinks, we do not guarantee X800 XT clock speeds, we only guarantee 16 fully working pipelines!!

All exciting but have anyone seen any of the cards with 512MB memory? Prices for those?

If you want to run e.g. D3 at max you need 512MB. If you 'only' have 256MB you will be in high mode.

Just wondering.

In short, no!

Not sure about ATi cards but pretty much ALL of the nVidia based 6800 cards are exact copies of the reference design. That says to me that it is too early for the manufacturers to have started getting clever with the design. I guess it will be towards the end of this year before we see any.

Having said that, the way the new AMD chips treat memory (embedded memory controllers thus making memory access fast) may be a way to get 256mb cards acting close to 512 mb cards. Who knows.

Cheers. Thanks for the info. I have been looking at some sites but they all have 128 or 256 MB cards only.

The ATI 512MB X800's are due for 'announcement' in September according to a few web sources and for shipping in October.  Given how scarce DDR3 RAM is, how the new cards will use at least double the current card's memory allowance and as the current 256 cards are still in short supply I reckon finding a 512MB card in stock will be like about as difficult as winning the lottery two weeks on the trot

Then again as the OEM suppliers appear to have had their orders filled nwo by both nVidia and ATI then the retail supply shoudl ease a little too - but they still need to find the DDR3 for the cards
