This is hopefully going to be a wish list that the LAN Admins turn into work in progress and then into reality. If you have any suggestions for events etc that you would like to see at the LAN then please let us know by posting here. At the moment the strarting point is that we intend to run the following:
- Internal LAN website detailing the times of all the competitions and other information.
- Internal LAN forums for any other discussions or questions from attendees, or information from the LAN Admins.
- Internet access - we are trying to confirm access to the hotel's broadband connection. Discussions with their IT person are in progress. This will NOT be access for downloads and browsing, it will simply be to allow any updates that might be needed in an emergency.
- HLTV running an appropriate delay for the competition and main gaming server to be shown via an LCD projector onto a projector screen at one end of the room.
- Competitions - if you have any suggestions as to what you would prefer to see offered then please let us know.
- Some scheduled gaming on particular games at specific times.
I hope this is a good starting point, your comments would be welcome. LAN Admins will be discussing the posts made here starting from later this week.

Name tags to benefit the new guys??
maybe showing hotel staff that we are with the dmw party?
Yes, as we did last time we will aim to provide 'monitor name tags' so you know who is sat where and also some name tags to help peeps get to know everyone.
We can also add a seating plan to the LAN website/forum if needed.

i would like to see a 2v2 knockout tourney on maps like degal warehouse aim maps and scout maps etc
2 v2 would take an age with that amount of players......
better off with the 5 v 5 ........or 6 v 6 as per the previous lans
(as long as we give DA enough time to crawl out of his pit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) ;)

It *could* take ages, but then not everyone will want to enter.....

LFS tourney would be good
Soggy Biscuit?
DA can be the biscuit.
We need to put a ropey bench in the carpark for that Griffin feel.
I'll edit this post with something mildly serious as and when I think of something.
EDIT 1 (Duvel): There are more than enough people who do like the racing and it's a laugh in a team of 2, blocking and cheating.

Nah, I don't like racing games. Sorry guys. The 5-5 games of CS were allright (Although DA wasn't up yet).
The HALO hoot was sorely missed at the last LAN. Time needs to be set aside for one this time. Also, does anyone have the full set of the Bloodgulch Chronicles? If you haven't seen them, it's a must for showing on the projector.
D"sarge?"M
Missed HALO aswell but had a blast with UT2004 and BF Vietnam.
will cs source still be live? Shall we provisionally make hl2 matches?doom 3 2v2 teams?
Just some ideas
CS:Source and hl2 i dont think will be out tho doom3 is an option think it has a limit of 8 on a server may be wrong tho. Benny bring your projector ;)
We are aiming to have an LCD projector hooked up to HLTV to show the games on a big (circa 8ft) screen.
TL.
OOO showoff :P
Nice work

Benny bring your projector ;) In my computer magazine in talks about a 4 player doom 3 multiplayer! However moders will have brought out larger capacity mods so maybe we could have a large doom 3 server going?
The LAN Admins are currently discussing the possible official games and the necessary logistics. We will post back in due course.

QuoteOriginally posted by DuVeL@Aug 26 2004, 11:01 AM I do want to try it sometime but I'll be probably driving at the wrong side of the road ;) . On a race track there is no right side of the road. There is also no spoon. Play on. TL.

[/b] I have just finished a conversation with the hotel. The Broadband connection is 'being installed' along with new phone wiring as we speak. They are as yet unsure as to whether or not it will allow access to the internet from the conference room. This item remains WIP. At the end of the day we could always arrange a WAP for it, but I would prefer to avoid WAP if possible, even if 54G. And I am not too sure they would appreciate 30m of CAT5 cable from the BB connection across the car park and into the conference room! There is a problem with the hotel's LCD projector - the problem being that they don't have one. Does anyone have access to an LCD projector we can 'borrow' for the weekend? I have access to one, but it is not available for that weekend. If you have access to one please let me know, your help would be appreciated. TL.
didn't sheepy have one?
I have a fat sharp projector I could bring if you need it. It weighs four tons and fits neatly into the boot of a 747.
Needs a bnc input, or rgb.
its beeny with the projector not me
