...... can anyone else not strafe while moving forwards or backwards? Am I doing something stupid or am I missing something really simple in the options? I've had a look round the steam forums & theres nothing about it by anyone else as far as I can find.
i think it must be you. the key layout and work the same way as cs :whistle:

ok, panic over all, problem solved.
a note to all others who are inclined to do stupid things without thinking them through 1st - old 1.6 cfg's & other such files might not work with cs:s :whistle:
