Each new member of Charlie Company receives a 'Welcome Pack' that, among other things, tells them that they are required to pass a small test before they can be considered for selection. The wording is:
QuoteNOTE: Before you are eligible to be selected for a match you must demonstrate to an admin that you have:
1. Fully working, good quality voice-comms.
2. A buyscript.
3. Working irc client allowing you to join #deadmen.
An admin will contact you soon to arrange this test.
To help spread the load, can I ask for volunteers willing to take recruits through the test?
Points 1 and 3 are simple to judge but maybe Sadako would be happy to define the parameters for the buyscript test?
I would say that you should be moving out of spawn (knife out) when freeze time ends with all the stuff bought. We have 4 second freeze time on our servers and that is plenty. I know it is possible to get the following in less than 2 seconds though.
CT $5000 startmoney
M4+full ammo
kevlar+hemlet
HE
Flash
defuse
T $5000 startmoney
AK+full ammo
kevlar+helmet
he
flash
smoke
CT and T $2000 startmoney
kevlar+helmet
defuse or flash
Desert Eagle
I can possibly help out this weekend.
yep iam around if needed
Thanks Guys. :)
Who would like to make contact with Target to arrange for his test?
ok i'll do that 1
Leave it with me :)
/me volunteers
I reckon the above takes 3 buttons in total for all the tests with my load out options :D
Serious point: Can I suggest that the test is run with an unannounced freezetime=0? This will allow every new recruit to be aware of the fact that on the very first test they ran with an Admin they were *way* behind the speed of the Admin. It is a good way of making the point that every player needs to orient themselves to the spawn exit, press the run forward key and then buy whilst running out of spawn.
Good idea or crap?

Great idea. :)
For all you rcon jockeys ...

While we are at it we should ensure that they have registered on ED etc and are attached to the dMw clan in those leagues. They should not make themselves avail for a league match until their registrations are "green" as it were.

The 'Welcome Pack' asks them to signup for ED and to let me know when that's done so I can add them to the clan.
You're right though, it should also say that they mustn't make themselves available until they get the green ticky thing. I'll add it to the pack.
Final bump - we must ensure that both CS & CZ are included in the test as we play both.
