Title: High-Spec Laptops
Post by: A Twig on September 05, 2004, 02:34:13 PM
I am going to Uni, and intending to purchase a laptop, as I'm doing engineering, there will be a fair amount of graphics, 3d modelling etc etc, so I want a high end laptop that can do graphics well. Do these actually exist? The majority of laptops I've seen have shoddy graphics cards.

Cheers mate! Dunno if I can justify the cost ( £1,190) but would be sooo good if I could! It would beat my desktop PC hands down!  :D

I did engineering and survived with a desktop...just get a memory stick to cart info between the uni computers and your own desktop, ...or get broadband in halls/digs and use ftp ;)

...not that I still don't want a laptop! Going to try and wangle one out of the next years computing budget. Or pick up an old one that can just about cope with word and dvd-playing for trips...maybe some gentle programming

I have a laptop from work - its been the bane of my life (people now think you can/want to take work home with you :lmfao: )

The only really useful part is the DVD player for when I'm away with work ;)
