An adult sex toy sparked a security scare which closed an Australian airport for nearly an hour.
The vibrating object was discovered at Mackay Airport by a security officer who noticed a suspicious package inside a rubbish bin.
Cafeteria manager Lynne Bryant said her staff had been cleaning tables when they noticed a strange humming noise coming from the rubbish bin.
"It was rather disconcerting when the rubbish bin started humming furiously," she told the Herald Sun.
"We called security and next minute everybody was being evacuated while they checked it out."
The police spokeswoman said the terminal was evacuated immediately.
"Another two flights were expected to land at that stage but alternate arrangements were made for the passengers to collect their luggage away from the terminal," the spokeswoman said.
Ms Bryant said in retrospect the humming sounded exactly like a vibrator - but it was better to be safe then sorry.
"You can't afford to take chances," she said.
My friend actually had very similar happen, him & his soon to be went to Vegas to get married & they had there honeymoon in Hawaii, on there way through Hawaii airport on there way back home the silver container tube type thing they had there marriage licence/certificate in shut the whole airport down when customs thought it was a pipe bomb. Thinking about it though, they must've been in atleast 2 other airports to go to America & then onto Hawaii with the licence holder already in there bagage & neither of them gave a toss.
lol. I suppose its fair enough, you don't know wheres that things been :dummy:
