Title: Deadmen Website Update
Post by: TeaLeaf on May 26, 2002, 08:44:53 AM
If we are going to start dropping into the news groups to refresh and grow the UK PCS membership again then we need to update certain deadmen.co.uk web pages to make them current.

Who looks after them and may I offer some help to whomever that is  :?:

I've got access to *some* of the areas.

Let me know what you've recognised as being out of date and I'll decide if it's something I think I can change or something for Doggers to progress.

Yeah, it does need updating a bit. Especially the members pages (hint, hint!)  :D

If the site is going to be more high profile, then the rules for playing need to be highly visible!

Just my 2c worth.

Initial bits to be changed on the dMw website to assist publicity:

Add Gandalf to the members page (but you have to find something even better than John Steed!)

A nice large dMw Forums button for the homepage //www.deadmen.co.uk (currently no link to it)

http://www.deadmen.co.uk/pages.php?page=Si...+To+Play+PCS%21 (http://www.deadmen.co.uk/pages.php?page=Sign+Up+To+Play+PCS%21) needs the reference to CD removed, remove all reference bunny hopping, possibly remove the reference to stats as we don’t have any at the moment(!),

May be sensible to update the registration page as well to highlight the PCS style play etc more than the mailing list?

Just my 2 cents, but I am sure we can come up with some more in due course...

Regards.

The dMw site needs reworking.  As most of the chatting goes on in here, we don't actually need a lot of the stuff we have on the current site.  The who, what, where and how of PCS could do with its own section, f'rinstance.
I'm also going to switch the main site to "announce-only" so that discussions end up in here.

As sad as I would be to see our historical stuff go, but maybe all the old posts should be removed.  That way new visitors wont be confused over just where we do our chatting!

Also we need clear cut links for......

members page
pcs page
these forums.

remove as much clutter as we can from the front page bar the server panels and the map window doodahd.

just noticed we do take a lot of visits.  so far this month we've had 1285 visits, with 440 of them being unique.  prob safe to say we have around 300 new peeps visit our site each month.

However I'd not expect much in the way of new posters here or peeps interested in the clan as our front page now is so consusing.

PCS is getting even more column inches in ED.

Checkout: http://www.enemydown.co.uk/articledetail.asp?ID=52 (http://www.enemydown.co.uk/articledetail.asp?ID=52)

Starting to see some new faces on MH which may be a direct result of the original ED article.

Make 'em welcome ppl.
