Ok heres something thats been bothering me for some time! My computer won't let me open floppy disks in my drive. Weirdly it shows the drive in both bios and in my computer but after reading the disk says there is no disk in the drive. Again the same issues is present with a usb stick i have and says after registering the drive says that there is no disk present in the drive and i should insert one. Both my CDRW and dvd drives are working and even after a computer wipe and reinstall the problem persists! any ideas?
cheers

lo ghost mjr
its a long shot but it may be worth a go.
have you at any point in time unplugged your floppy drive... if you have then try reversing your ide cable if you havn't then no i cant help..
Yeah the floppy cable has to be the right way round. Also some mb's in bios need the floppy to be enabled as a extra option it might be showing up as you say just make sure it is enabled in bios!
What happens with the light on the front of the floppy drive? Is it on all the time regardless? Does it just come on when you try to access the disk? Can you hear the motor spin when you try to access a disk?
Information boy, we need information !!
