When I have been looking at the latest barebones from e.g. Shuttle the PSU is only 250W. Reading reviews of the newer graphics cards it is suggested that you have a PSU of at least 450W. I have googled with less success I must say. I found one that ran 6800 in a SN85 (shuttle) but haven't seen any other than that.
Anyone know anything about this?
Reason for asking is that I am considering upgrading my current 200W PSU in my Shuttle to a 250W and then maybe getting a 6800 or X800XT.

nVidia's recommended PSU ratings have dropped dramatically since just before release. The 450W is only needed for the 6800Ultra and then only when overclocking. I think the most important thing is to give the card it's own "rail" on a good quality PSU.
You may get away with the 6800GT in a 250W but I think that an ATi Card would draw less power so might be a safer bet.

Cheers BB. I will keep looking and I think I will swing by my regular computer store and ask them as well. I will post what I find out.
A top end cpu (90w~) and two 6800GTs (75watt each at most) is only 240watt. add the rest of the system (mobo, ram, hdd, cd drive) and it would probably still be under 300w.
The sff psu's are top quality and can handle most things you throw at them.
