Has anyone any recommendations for a cheap ( sub £50 ) video card.......my daughters PC needs a bit of a boost from the Matrox card it has installed because she wants to play Sims 2 etc etc etc. The system is only a 1Gig Athlon anyway so i don't want to spend a fortune ( A7V motherboard.........pretty sure i can'r get too much more out of that anyway )
Any recommendations gratefully accepted :)
A geforce 4 graphics card would probably work quite nicely.

My girlfriend uses a similar card, and Sims 2 works like a charm. In fact, it's VERY much like her card.
It's the 64MB version, which has been found to run a little faster than similar 128MB versions.
If you ask me, that there is a steal!
looks a bargain 2 me !!!!!
:D
These might be suitable for her needs <_<

Sorry to hijack your thread Neil, but does anyone have any idea whether setting the AGP opening in BIOS to 256mb will make any difference? At the moment it's set to 128mb and my card is 256mb. Thoughts?
Leave at 128Mb. If anything you run the risk of 256Mb degrading performance slightly. Mine is at 128 and has been for years (even with a 64Mb card)
I sort of agree with BB,as AAS is basically useing system ram,it depends on how much of that you have. Its a bit of a trade off, experiment. :D
More info here (http://www.ocfaq.com/article.php/overclocking/vidcard/43) if you have trouble sleeping :D
Thank you, I must admit I was tossing and turning a bit. I'll be alright now. :)
