Title: CS execulable error
Post by: albert on December 10, 2002, 04:26:04 PM
I played CS this morning (yeah I know morning   ) and it worked fine. I changed nothing and tried just now 16:20 in the afternoon and I won't authenticate with the WON servers and I get a reply saying my CS executable is out of date    Anyone else got this problem?
Might they be upgrading to CS1.6?

I tried again, no luck   .

So I restored from my backup  :D  and it's ok now. Always keep a backup! It saves a lot of heartache. So I must have done something wrong. I think my pc crashed this morning whilst I was playing so the cs files may have been corrupted.

Thanks for checking for me.

Is your config.cfg read only?

The reason I ask is that I've read recently of some dodgy admins messing with people's configs.

Nope my config will be default read/write.

When I did the recovery earlier I used my backup config. Maybe that was what sorted out the problem. On the other hand I was only one MH last night then Jolt this morning for 20 mins and Jolt tends to be safe.

If it happens again I'll check my config.
