I fancied a case change as mine had a huge dent in it.
So i ordered one online, it came i installed everything from the old one.
I turned it on.... 10 seconds later it dies and does the same all over.
Dont think its the graphics card, the ram is barely new and everything worked just about 30 mins beofre the case transfer.
The only difference is the case, ide cables and a new dvdRW?
Any1 have any suggestions?
Should i connect a speaker to tell you the maount of beeps?
Me is at a loss.....
Is the on/off button stuck 'on'.
Does it have two on/off buttons? Is one of them stuck?
You have a new case but also a new power supply?
If you have a new one (the one who was already in the new case)
then change it with your old one.
Also check all your cables.
And if that fails then i dunno....

Nope its not a new one its the same as i had before tho i just tested it with another psu and it did the same.
Quickly connected the speaker and it was going (doo-deer, doo-deer noise?)
Tho i think thats to do with it thinking that the fan speed is too slow for the cpu as i had that before so nevermind that.
So im thinking either
MB
RAM although pretty much new
Graphics card even though i tried another one same result

I'm not 100%, but i think that beeping means graphics card?
Ive tried another graphics card tho that might be dodgy too ill use a working one from another machine and see if that works...

You sure that was the noise?....more like Oh dear, Oh dear if you ask me :D
Presuming you had all the same bits working in the old case?.......pc shutting down can sometimes be indicative of cpu being too hot and mobo shutting down for safety reasons.
Suggest you check you applied thermal paste and secured heatsink properly and you plugged the heatsink fan in.
Alternatively, as OB's post, check your on\off connections and that you haven't connected your power connection to your standby connection.
Make sure your motherboard isnt shorting on the stand-offs :P
What mobo is it? (some make different sounds)
I would take everything out of your system except for essential componants. Motherboard, CPU, 1 RAM stick, graphics card, power supply.
Then go from there, see it it boots up ok if so add more parts and try again.
Oh once my PC wouldn't boot and I spent hours trying to figure it out with no luck. Turned out it was the USB front header I'd connected to the motherboard, motherboard didn't like the USB ports on my Chieftec Dragon case for some reason!!! :D
Is your power supply enough to power all your peripherals? Maybe it is over loaded and does not have enough power! Also maybe try a different plug socket around your house! It could be a power lead maybe! If there are energy sucking appliances around switch them off and try then!
Well its all the same stuff all the same powr so that wont matter, im starting to think ive shorted sometihn out on the mb tripped like, as it is exactly 10 secs everytime, well ill try it all out of the case and make sure i had grounded myself.
Just took out of case no luck although now i try to start it up it just powers up then turns off straight away :( bugga gonna go surf the web for a fix.....i hope
Any1 got a motherboard for sale as i need another one otherwise i gotta buy another one :(. As i tihnk ive fry'd mine. Does any1 have any suggestions on another one?
If you still want to test things...I'd try re-seating the ram and graphics card as I've had similar problems that were basically due to things not quite connecting properly in their motherboard slots. Giving the slots a clean might help too. I used an old toothbrush on my ancient celeron, however I advise finding something less-static-prone if you try cleaning yourself. A good blast of air does wonders. Other than that, try looking up the beep codes for your motherboard?
As far as recommending motherboards goes I'm no expert, but I'm sure someone will recommend something!
Check the screws underneath the motherboard, one of my hall-mates short-circuited his motherboard last year because of a rogue screw.
Is the BIOS still beeping? If so, how many beeps (short + long)?
Tried a different PSU (preferrably one with a higher power rating)?
It has 2 of the base units to the case stuck in the top screws that might be the problem, though my pc keeps shutting off :(
Also check that the cpu fan is connected to the right set of pins on the motherboard and then check the bios settings to see if the shutdown if cpu fan not detected is enabled and if it is disable it.
