with that log out of steam and restart and login again and then you should be able to play.

Me too. Looks like we've been naughty boys Jas. :(
it's probably just a temp server prob or the right ports aren't open on the router:
Steam Answer here (http://steampowered.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/steampowered.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=30&p_created=1092275064&p_sid=em6RNzrh&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX3Jvd19jbnQ9MjY0JnBfc2VhcmNoX3R5cGU9c2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcHJvZF9sdmwxPSZwX2NhdF9sdmwxPSZwX2NhdF9sdmwyPSZwX3BhZ2U9MSZwX3NlYXJjaF90ZXh0PURpc2Nvbm5lY3Q6IEVycm9yIHZlcmlmeWluZyBTVEVBTSBVc2VySUQgVGlja2V0&p_li=)
Tried the disconnect, tried the restart, tried the delete blob - nothing works.
two possibilities left IMHO:
1/ We might need extra ports open for server - IIRC you normally need:
TCP 7002 out
TCP 5273 out (Auth Steam_IDs)
UDP 27010 out (server browser)
UDP 27012 in and out
UDP 27015 in (or whatever port the server runs on)
TCP 27040 in (RCON)
or
2/ It might just take a while for the servers to register with Steam Auth Servers so we'll just have to be patient.
I'm having the same problem and I just can't wait to try out the new network :dribble:
I can play on them.
So it should be fine.
(if i can do it then it shouldn't be a problem for you  :P )
Nope.
Still nothing :(

me neither :(
Also
the only two coming up with names on my favourite list is
meathook and razor
Houston? .... etc. :(
We started MH, Razer and Boomer as a test and all looked well. However, it's obvious now that there's a problem with ports (we've never been behind a hardware firewall before).
I'll make attempts to get this cleared up asap.
I think as a minimum you need 27010, server port plus 27040

Cheers BB.
I've made the request.
Ok im on my mobile so this will be brief. We have told their firewall chap the additional ports. They should be added tomorrow morning.
Done some digging and found the following ports are used for the listed services. Not sure that we would need them all though and I'm getting conflicting info from different Steam forum threads:
5273 out (Auth Steam_IDs)
27010 out (server browser)
27012 in and out (Security Modules)
27015 in (or whatever port the server runs on)
27040 in/out (RCON)
Steam FAQ says we should only need 27010, game port (eg 27018) plus 27040 however other threads report the info above.
hope this helps but it'll prob just add to the confusion ;)
Just a thought: Has there been an "ip" or "port" entry left in the server config from previous location. May be conflicting with current info.
Google says the "Error 35" warning can definately be due to port 27012 not being open for security module updating. I'm also hoping the unopened ports issue is responsible for me not being able to see either Baldrik or Homer yet.
same as everyone else steamticket blah blah
anticipation reaching critical mass....must...keep....trying...little..ping..soo...close..now!!!
We're waiting for some additional ports to be opened by Hi-Velocity as they have kindly agreed to site us behind a rather robust and most cool hardware firewall :D
TL.
ok, I've just mailed of the ports to them. Please confirm that this is ok;
5273 TCP out (Auth Steam_IDs)
27010 TCP out (server browser)
27012 TCP in and out (Security Modules)
27015-27019 UDP in and out (or whatever port the server runs on)
27040 TCP in and out (RCON)
I do need to know what prot they use, I've guessed most as I believe all bar the game ports are TCP
I can't guarantee it. it is the best info I can find but there is a lot of conflicting info on the Steam Forums.
I have 27010, 27012, 27016 and 27040 open for my own server and it seems to work (other than not showing up in server browser for some silly reason). I'm pretty sure my ports are open for UDP and TCP but that's more a function of my router than anything else.
cool, well I've just spoken to their sales director. He's got all the ports but can't get hold of their technical director. He's gonna call me when he has found him and it's been sorted.
I can now get onto the server but after a couple of seconds the same error comes up.
I can also see Bsldric and Homer.
Strange
hmm, it should have been done by now. I'll kick em some more in the morning
i see them all but canny join em ..i dont have the pooower
I see a couple of the servers but no one's on..
Its all explained in the post, their is a port problem thats will be sorted tomorrow.
I see that the servers have disappeared completely now :(
We believe our box crashed. It is being restarted and the firewall rules wiped and re-written this morning. Hopefully a little later today we will be up and running properly. In the mean time please be patient peeps, we believe the end result will be worth it.
TL.
The server is now back up and running.
All servers now back up and running.
Can someone try to join and see if the firewall has been reset yet please? I am at work atm and cannot try it from here.
TL.
I get ticket verification error, only on dmw servers. :(
OK, thanks Norm, I was following the logs as you joined and I reckon the firewall is not yet fully tweaked. Thanks for trying we'll get back on to HV.
TL.
11.28 - Ditto the Error 35 problem although I can see all the servers now. :)
yeah, I've chased them. Will let you know as soon as I'm told the work is done.
Pings seem much better now. Servers were everything from 30 to 70 on Sunday. Now all showing 20 to 40 for me :)
15.39 still the same ...error reading steam ticket validation
also cannot see the source server
:(

All servers are still up and running. I have been monitoring them all day and they are still up as we speak having first been restarted this morning. Make sure that you have used the right IP?
TL.
well, i cant see all the servers. Have added them to favs at work, will try get on when im home later tonight :)
I can see them all from work atm. Still can't get onto them yet so I guess we are still waiting for the auth port to be opened in the firewall.
ok, well this is the list of ports that are open.
ICMP - Ping
DNS - So the server can resolve names
80 TCP In and Out - Web
3389 TCP In and Out - Remote Desktop
5900 TCP In and Out - VNC
5273 TCP & UDP In and Out - Auth Steam_IDs
27010 TCP & UDP In and Out - server browser
27012 TCP & UDP In and Out - Security Modules
27015 to 27020 TCP & UDP In and Out - Steam Servers
27040 TCP & UDP In and Out - RCON
I'm speaking to their technical director now to see if I can get hold of the firewall logs and try to find out what, if any, ports are being blocked that steam needs.
Can anyone who is on steam at the moment try to connect please?
All servers remain up and running.
Below list taken from my HLSW:
82.197.65.246:27015 -=[dMw]=- TCS MeatHook
82.197.65.246:27016 -=[dMw]=- TCS Homer
82.197.65.246:27017 -=[dMw]=- Baldric MR12
82.197.65.246:27018 -=[dMw]=- Razer CZ MR12
82.197.65.246:27019 -=[dMw]=- Boomer TCS:Source
Thanks.
TL.
Just tried to get onto Baldric and I got the same error message about the server being unable to contact the authentication server.
Just tried Razer still getting authentication server error
Yep, problem reported back to G and we will have to wait for him to run through the firewall logs with the Tech Dir. Keep the faith peeps.
TL.
ok, I'm going to be running through this with him tonight. We have a plan, but can't put it into action yet as he's just off out to pick his kiddie up from nursery.
I'll report back here later with some results.
Nice one g-man!! :worship:  :worship:  :dmw:
Gandalf, I'm sure you have it in hand.
I've got a spreadsheet with the ports needed for CS and admin and all that crap. Mail me if you need it.
I'm on Meathook :D
Anyone fancy a game.... It's looking really nice with no lag (only me on though)
ok, we are all sorted. ( I hope! ) please connect up and test.
The issue was the server outbound to the internet. We have nailed it down to these ports. tcp 27000-27040
That is all thats open outbound and its working fine.
Final list for reference.
Inbound
Web Site tcp 80
CounterStrike udp 27000-27020
udp 27030-27039
udp 1200
Outbound
tcp 27000-27040
Good job G
