Title: Server Test Please
Post by: Anonymous on November 30, 2004, 10:29:44 PM
As a test I am running 3 servers as I am still having issues (Gametiger keeps giving incorrect port numbers for the servers and they will not show up in Master Browser List) :(

Could people please try these servers to see which are working:

blueball.deadmen.co.uk:27015 -> CS1.6
blueball.deadmen.co.uk:27016 -> CZ
blueball.deadmen.co.uk:27017 -> CS:Source

The reason I'm asking for this is because the servers do not appear in master browser and GameTiger gives:

GameTiger Page (http://www.gametiger.net/search?server=blueball&game=all)

where the ports are patently wrong. I think my router may be mangling the ports when performing NAT :(

Cheers, they are same servers.

Must be a DNS prob somewhere because using DNStools.com gives valid response for blueball.sutherlandweb.co.uk

I have a DynDNS domain too so I can fall back on blueball.sutherlandweb.dnsalias.net if needed

Damned if I know. I've been logging questions with Zyxel and the broadband forums to try to get an answer to this. Its weird.

Tried this morning and can see the cz server but timed out connecting to it. The other two come up as not responding in steam.

We are following each other round the forums again.

Tried the name, will try the ip for the source and cs ones now.

I can see the Cs and source server using the ip addy and could connect to cs server and play on it. Cant test the source server as it won't run on my lappy.

Thanks m8.

I'm getting somewhere with the guys on the broadband forums. Looks like Zyxel hav a prob in their newer firmware that mangles ports between 10000 and 30000 during NAT :(

Prob has been seen on Zywall 2 and Prestige 3334 so far. i might have to try to find an older firmware for my router (bah humbug)

Thanks to all for help :)

My Pleasure. Hope you get it sorted soon. I miss the little games on different maps we used to play on your server.

Did you connect to them from the master browser list, from your favourites list or from HLSW?

And did you use IP or domain names?

Sorry for the questions just trying to find out what is going on :)

Connected from favourites after inputting the servers as IP addresses. HTH
