Title: Error trying to get on CS Source server
Post by: MAD_ness on December 01, 2004, 05:31:50 PM
Just thought I would try out the new source server and it came up with an error code saying that the version on the server is older than the client version (6)

anyone else get this ???

 :(

I will update the servers now.

Expect all servers to go offline temporarily.

CS & CZ servers back up and running.  The CS:S server seems to be downloading a complete copy of HL2 Deathmatch server which was never asked for - it's be downloading for about an hour now :(

I cannot get RCON to the Source server but I can RCON the rest. Is this something to do with the update or have we got a port problem Houston (do we need TCP 27019 inbound open)

Also getting the voice error again and no voice comms. I guess that the server.cfg still has references to the 1.6 settings that were ported across. The offending error message I get is:

Unable to load voice codec 'voice_speex'. Voice disabled.

the speex module isn't used in CS:S so line "sv_voicecodec voice_speex" needs to be deleted from config please? :)

That should sort comms out once and for all as I hope :)

ok, well this is the list of ports that are open.

ICMP - Ping
DNS - So the server can resolve names

80 TCP In and Out - Web
3389 TCP In and Out - Remote Desktop
5900 TCP In and Out - VNC
5273 TCP & UDP In and Out - Auth Steam_IDs
27010 TCP & UDP In and Out - server browser
27012 TCP & UDP In and Out - Security Modules
27015 to 27020 TCP & UDP In and Out - Steam Servers
27040 TCP & UDP In and Out - RCON

I'm speaking to their technical director now to see if I can get hold of the firewall logs and try to find out what, if any, ports are being blocked that steam needs.

Mmm, well can anyone else RCON the source server from HLSW?

CounterStrike udp 27000-27020

I seem to be having a prob with RCON from HLSW. On all but the Source server I can send RCON commands. i cannot send RCON commands at all on source server. However, I cannot see the chat logs from any of them.

We prob need an RCON port in for the Source server and RCON ports out for all of the servers

HLSW tries to use 7130 but I'm not sure what port it gets responses back in from.

I cannot RCON to the Source server even when playing on the server so I guess we need 27019 TCP in for the Source server

Source servers need TCP opened inbound for rcon so we need 27019 and 27020 opened please. PM'd as requested too. Cheers.

27016 too due to HL2 DM server (that's DM for Deathmatch not Dogmeat although it was nice to see him on the server the other night :))

Would we be as well opening TCP in/out for all game ports (27015 - 27019).

Still can't get logs from servers in HLSW :(
