Title: programme to read emails
Post by: MAD_ness on December 02, 2004, 04:36:59 PM
I have been getting a few mails (from known sources) that I am unable to open ...I have been getting round it by opening using notepad (which just barely allows you to get the drift of what the mail is about), but this is far from satisfactory and was wondering if anyone knows of a programme to download/install that will allow me to read them ?

They always start with:

 1 [No Description] text/html 25.49 KB
  Message Source

and the text emblem is very similar to the word one ...but it has a "N" in the top left hand corner instead of the "W"

Much appreciate any help if anyone has any pointers

Ta!  :)

as far as im aware MIME is the standard for emails. If its in that standard then ur outlook/thunderbird/other email reader should be able to read it.

What email client you using and is it possible to stick one of the emails here so i can take alook at the format?

MIME Emails are easy to read in notepad etc. so whatever ur getting probably isnt an email format.

Disclaimer: i may well be completely wrong and well of the ball :D

I recon you're spot on the money.

It might also be down to mangled html. Many e-mail applications send both a plain text and html version of an e-mail message. Depending on what sort of e-mail format the recipient lkes or is able to read their e-mail application either shows the plain text or html version. You might be looking at the html version but it's badly formatted or something? The name of the e-mail application you use would help a lot  :)
