Title: The Incredibles
Post by: smilodon on December 04, 2004, 06:24:48 PM
IMDB Entry Here (http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0317705/combined)

QuoteMr. Incredible is a superhero; or he used to be, until a surge of lawsuits against superheroes submitted by the people they've saved forced the government to hide them in witness protection programs so they could lead normal, anonymous lives. Now known exclusively by his secret identity, Bob Parr, he lives with his wife Helen, formerly Elastigirl, and their three children Violet, Dash, and Jack. He works as an insurance claims specialist, and he's fed up with his pushy boss and his immoral profession, but his wife's worked too hard to build a normal life for her family to abide his nostalia for heroism. When Mr. Incredible's offered the chance to play the role of hero again by a mysterious informant, he jumps at the opportunity, but when it turns out to be a trap set by an old nemesis he had a hand in corrupting, the whole family must reveal themselves to save Mr. Incredible and countless innocents.

From Pixar, who did Toy Story, Monsters Inc and Finding Nemo, so unsuprisingly another piece of excellent cinema that will entertain kids and have adults in stitches.

Wonderful 8/10

Not seen it myself but what I have read/heard is that is the worst pixar movie yet.  It's more aimed at the adults than the kids. Lots of jokes about working in insurance, at the start.

I'd agree the film is one of the best for adults. It has more 'grown up humour' than Toy Story and seems to sit alongside Monsters Inc for 'adult humour'. But most of the sprogs I know seemed to love it.

All my 2 year old Godson wants for Xmas is "The Inedibles, The Inedibles :dribble:  "

just watched this, very funny, thoroughly enjoyed it.

The insurance jokes are really not that bad, it's used more as setting the scene of working in a really crap job. Basically getting shouted at for helping ppl (super heros help ppl). Kids get it because of the emotions and adults get it cuase its true.

9/10

the end had me in stitches.

If anything, this movie, ontop of being generally fantastic, made me realise that Jason Lee isn't just a decent indie actor, but a quite impressive voice actor to boot.
