There are plenty of women in bikinis rollerskating down the beach front. While I'm cruising down the strip in my opentopped sportscar with Axel-F blaring out!

Man the 80's were great!  :D

what a coincidence.  only last night the missus finally said "what u want for Christmas" and being a sad old man (and the ad was on the telly) I said "GTA Vice city" :-)

So... if I send her to "Game" will she find it for the PC easily enough?  shes only seen it for PS2 on the net so far.

Am I wrong or is Vice City an expansion pack for GTA3 that Rockstar are just releasing as a complete new game in order to con us all? Or is it actually a complete new game worthy of my thirty quid.....more of an Opposing Forces than a Team Fortress?

And is it still full of bugs like the original or have Rockstar bought a book on how to code properly?

Yeah me agreed with Mr Neutron, GTA bugged the hell outa me with the silly little problems. Was good for the comedy value though. I kept my saved games so maybe will go back to it and see if there is a decent patch around now.

I can't wait for my XBox to arrive  8)

It's a new game on PS2. pretty much more of the same, but more vehicles....nikes, and slightly differnt missions.

The Getaway is the one I want.

If you like GTA then buy Vice City, if you thought it was alright but want a real leap of improvement then don't.

Thanks for attending Benny's review clinic.

You could just buy the game and drive around with it, running people off of bikes, flicking rubber bands at passers by, and generally trying to talk like Ray Liotta outta Goodfellas but I don't think you'd get the same effect..

Vice city is PS2 only at the mo. It's out on the PC next year.

As for bugged, the PS2 version of GTA3 and Vice city are fine. I know they had some problems with the PC version, but most games are like that. unfortunatly it's the price we pay for such a wide variety of hardware configs.

As for content. Vice city is bigger, but the mission structure is similar. Play GTAIII and Vice City does seem like an expansion pack. But it is a completly new game as far as I'm concerned, because I grew up in the 80's. I remember the music, and the humour and thought that has gone into the game is first class. Just listening to the radio stations, and the presenters usually have me in tears when they start talking. Class.

If you have a PS2, rent it out, and see what you think. I was still playing GTA3 after 18 months, and still loving every minute of it. Now I have Vice City, I expect to still be playing this for years to come.

Not many games out there that can do that.

I think the problems were more than just a few bugs...more of a complete lack of ability to port it onto the PC but as I actually got mine up and running without too many problems I really shouldn't complain.

If there is more talk radio and dodgy Nike adverts I'm buying it just for that :D

Oh and can you still rent a lady of the night for some squeeky suspension fun? Then when your done grab your baseball bat and smash her brains out?

Nope the driving stays much the same, execpt you get better cars as the years go by. Some of the later ones actually go round corners. I think the idea is immerse yourself in the feel and ambiance of the period, to experience the sights and sounds of the city, to suspend your disbelief and become the character ..........or something.

I actually enjoyed the game a lot and if you do get sick of it try to hold out (maybe with GOD mode on for speed) until you get to the end. There is a not inconsiderable twist at the finale.

Latest says it's coming out late summer.  New game, not an extension.  Straight console-port, so bugs likely to remain, unless they learn their lessons.

Is it just me, or did GTA3 get a little boring once the third map opened up ?  Just became a bit "samey".

Problem with console games - they are for overweight American kids who have the attention span of a goldfish and the energy of an asthmatic ant who's carrying some heavy shopping.

Give me a game thats a little more involved please (such as Star Wars Galaxies, or maybe even Britneys Dance Beat)
