Did anyone play on meat hook last night? (23/04/02).

I've been tweaking the routing on the Crosswired network.  I was wondering if it were better or worse?

Answers on a postcard.

No better for me and Frenzy sorry to say.

Title: PingPlotter Results

Thanks to those that sent me PP records.  They seem to point to intermittent  spikes on our router.  Other times, I've seen the ping hover around 15-20 for an hour or more.  Investigations continue... :?

Thanks to all those that sent in their ping plotter data..... errm thats just Oldie.  Oldie=Praises the rest of you=turd-tics  >:-(

It seems one of our providers has a router that has problems speaking to it's immediate neighbours at times.... a crosswired router is of course one of theose neighbours.

I'm looking into it  8O

We all had big problems with the server during last night's game (Wed 26th June) which resulted in the usual barrage of insults from some of the more vocal members of the oppo.

Although pings looked OK (and I had no loss/choke) there were plenty of lag spikes. Most of the outages were only a second or so but a couple were longer.

Do we know the cause? Is the MH underspecified?

Should we scrap that Linux crap and use a proper OS

hehehehe, me too!!!!

I've got an old IBM RS/6000 server here with AIX (I think, haven't used it in a few years) installed. It's in bits and some of the HDD's have been robbed but otherwise it's intact.

Anyone want????

Good idea.  Whichever one you want.  You can be admin and I'll be Xwired and I'll bill you £50 every time you want the server rebooted.  Deal?

MH does seem to choke some times.... yet the load average is not that bad...

Is there a coloration between the rare times ( :)  both teams clash at a hot spot on the map and a big fire fight takes place?

HHHmmmm.

Yep. Sheepy's right. The big outages happen at anytime.
