Dead Men Walking

Ladies and Gentlemen,

After very careful considerations by the dMw admins we have decided that we will no longer be offering CS1.6 on our gaming servers.

As from Sat 8th Jan 2005 we will be converting all of our servers to Condition Zero (also known as CS:CZ or just plain CZ).

We sincerely hope you will support us in this decision as we honestly feel there are major gaming advantages to be had by making it.

Our servers will be presented as such ...

'The MeatHook' (27015) will become our main password-protected TCS CZ server.
Homer (27016) will become our second password-protected TCS CZ server.
Baldric (27017) will become our CZ match server.
Razer (27018) will be our public CZ server.

Even though CS:Source has been with us for a while now we think that it's still an immature product and will hold off any decision to move across to it until we feel happy that the major issues we have with it in it's present form have been resolved.

We can limit weapons for bots ("rcon bot_allow_snipers 0" does the trick)

I think that's gone but let's wait for OB and TL to confirm in case I'm totally wrong - don't throw your CS1.6 files away yet :)

Our focus is on TCS at the moment and as far as that's concerned it's CS:CZ only as from Sat.

Excellent. I played a few rounds of 1.6 last night - it was about as much as I could stomach before turning it off in disgust. It feels half-baked, a beta, next to CZ.

Very good decision. It is much more enjoyable, graphics and all.

I always had to decide whether to start CS or CZ, when looking you guys up (the Tiger isn't that good), and now all my problems are solved  :blink:

Plus, CZ refers to the Galil rifle in its true name, as we call it here in the IDF   8)

So where is the cheapest place to get it, i havent seen it for 5£. I want to try and get my mate on it but he wont spend 15£ (at play) for it as hes got loads of games to play after Xmas. :)

This 'GAME' is it //www.game.co.uk? If so it appears to now be £22. or is it a different url?

I saw a few on Ebay for a tenner so I'll head off there or is that a BAD MOVE you think??

/Bob Barley obviously didn't read the bulk mail we sent to all members :rolleyes:

We have been running a CS:S server since beta as previously announced to all members.  The problem is that there is a memory leak on the dedicatedserver atm which meant having to reboot the server every day or so,  That, coupled with all the other bugs and less than fluid gameplay meant we decided to temporarily withdraw the CS:S server.  It will reappear when CS:S becomes a well-programmed package.

I hope they fix CS:S to a degree where you'll be playing that sharpish then, because I've forked out for HL2 and it seems a bit odd to go backwards down the chain to buy CS:CZ

Still, if HMV have it for a low price or in a deal with a sensible purchase, I might waste my voucher on it. <_<

Guess I'll catch you guys on the publics and then again when you move on to CS:S, assuming they do fix it of course... :ph34r:

Tbh i prefer 1.6 as a game but i suppose we must move forward as a clan. I Therefore look to the future to provide us with a stepping point to cz. I have always been a fan of 1.6 and it would be an idea to play this once in a while but it seems only matchplayers will get this opportunity. I say farewell to cs and hope cz will give flourish my love of the game i call counterstrike!

If you want to play 1.6 then go and play 1.6.

The only thing is that dMw changed from cs, cz. To only cz (yeah also a source server if it is running)

But you may still play cs but you can't play it on the dMw servers.

We are a community so you may play other games aswell...
