Title: In-house tournament 5th of January 2003
Post by: Dr Sadako on December 18, 2002, 10:43:29 AM
Some time ago we had an in-house tournament that was good fun. Anyone interested in a new tournament?

This is how we played the last time:
Quote
MR12, 6v6, FFon

Four balanced teams.

All play each other once (six games)

Top two teams play the final.

Sunday 6th October . First game at 2pm.

Map/s, points to be decided.

Open to all regular Meat Hookers.

24 players required. Who's interested?

I suggest that we play on both MH and baldric and thereby cutting the waiting time a lot. If there is a huge interest we could make 6 teams (36 players) maybe.

The map played last time was de_train so we will have a different map this time.

Suggested date: Sunday 5th January, first game at 2 pm

This date is by no means fixed. If there is another day that is better we can change. The date is just one I picked.

I missed the last one, but by reports it was a long old day. how about we make it MR6. I'm in a friendly tournament at the moment on battlefields 195.149.21.101:27015 (good server if you fancy a frag  :) ) and it is working well. we are speeding though the games...

Well I think we will make it better this time when we use (if we use) both servers. Then it will go more smoothely. Two matches could be played simultaneously. Albert could maybe put up a third server (if we need it) if we ask him nicely.

All players that play on MH are allowed to participate, even those that aren't balanced ...

At this point in time mate, I'm not going to be at home on the 29th unfortunately. I'll be in Manchester so can neither play nor bring my server online  :( . Soz. I'll be at the in-laws so even dialing in would be unlikely

We will use both MH and Baldric. IF needed maybe Albert could let us use his server too. It will not take as long as last tourney. We play two matches in paralell.

Well guys, there are only 6 positions left (to get 4 full teams) so you better sign up if you are interested.

I have done a suggestion for a tournament schedule so you know how and when we are going to play. dMw have a match at 8 pm against [dg] but we will make it in time I think.

4 Teams

2 pm

Team 1 - Team 2 on MH
Team 3 - Team 4 on Baldric

3 pm

Team 1 - Team 3 on MH
Team 2 - Team 4 on Baldric

4 pm

Team 1 - Team 4 on MH
Team 2 - Team 3 on Baldric

5 Teams

2 pm (Team 5 not playing)

Team 1 - Team 2 on MH
Team 3 - Team 4 on Baldric

3 pm (Team 4 not playing)

Team 1 - Team 5 on MH
Team 2 - Team 3 on Baldric

4 pm (Team 3 not playing)

Team 1 - Team 4 on MH
Team 2 - Team 5 on Baldric

Dinner break if needed 5-6 pm

6 pm (Team 2 not playing)

Team 1 - Team 3 on MH
Team 4 - Team 5 on Baldric

7 pm (Team 1 not playing)

Team 2 - Team 4 on MH
Team 3 - Team 5 on Baldric

6 Teams (This requires 3 servers.)

2 pm

Team 1 - Team 2 on MH
Team 3 - Team 4 on Baldric
Team 5 - Team 6 on ?

3 pm

Team 1 - Team 3 on MH
Team 2 - Team 5 on Baldric
Team 4 - Team 6 on ?

4 pm

Team 1 - Team 4 on MH
Team 2 - Team 6 on Baldric
Team 3 - Team 5 on ?

Dinner break if needed 5-6 pm

6 pm

Team 2 - Team 4 on Baldric
Team 3 - Team 6 on ?

7 pm

Team 1 - Team 6 on MH

You see that it will take equally long time to have 5 teams as to have 6 teams in the tournament.

QuoteAny chance of a HLTV or are we as i assume out of servers? Demos would be nice, of the final at least, for us whezzy fat kids who are sitting on the touchline watching after the coats.
HLTV has a nasty habit of falling over on our servers - just ask Stryker.

As for demos, well the best demo is the HLTV demo as you get all views.  I refer the honourable member to the answer I gave some moments ago.

Stryker/Doggers, care to make an HLTV comment or are we waiting for the Real Soon Nowâ,,¢ patent application to go through first?

I wanna play...but it may be an unwise choice for my testicles, so if someone wants to take my place shout. Otherwise I'll do my damnest to be there.

(Bird has been away for a month, comes back that weekend...yeah, great to see you but I'm gonna be busy all afternoon, might not be the welcome she's expecting..)

It would be nice if you can make it Benny as we still need one more to fill all of the boots.  On the other hand, if oyu can find us a reliabvle replacement AND a reserve then we just might let you off and allow your carnal urges to get the better of you.......

BTW, did you know that she'll be on the blob when she gets bacK?  You may as well get a lawnmower mate, etc........

As acting teamleader I actually want to hand this over to JB as he said it was no problems. I have other stuff to arrange/help out with during the tournament anyways and would be glad to get some load off my shoulders. So JB I hope you will act squad leader for [aPe]. This is what you have to think about:

Quote
Squad Leaders have responsibility for choosing their squad's name, preparing pre-game tactics and making all in-game decisions.

I can help out if you need but the main responsability is yours. You are free to change our name. ;)

I have suggested aztec, inferno or dust2 (not listed in any order) as they handle 6 players rather good, but it is TL and Oldie that calls the shots on the maps so I really don't know. I just pimp the tournament right now and put together a gaming schedule. OB an TL are the guys to harass. ;)

/me thinks of tactics.....
Right everybody wait back and let Frenzy kill them off if he dies crap yourself run around shooting every corner until you run out of bullets on your primary weapon then drop it now pull out your knife and start slashing the walls the opposition will think you want a knife fight when they come close pull out your pistol (GUN Jas) and blow there heads off right guys got it????
This should work with all maps seeing as positions wont matter :D  :D

IF all fails leave and say you had a bad connection and restart the match.

Personal note to Frenzy...When oldie is just about to shoot someone shout your MUM and tell her that oldie just called you an "Old Trout" that should get him a battering for an hour or so.

OK I need at least another 3 reserves please to ensure some contingency plans are in place.

If you see anyone on the server who is a regular and who is NOT down for the tourney - ASK THEM TO PLAY!!!  At the very least they can get put down as a reserve!  Remember, not all players will have seen the forums as only a percentage are registered for them.

In order that some of the reserves play, I may well sit the tourney out and just pop in and out of servers to check all is well.... we'll see how many turn up on the day first though.  So let's get pimping peeps!

The tournament it right around the corner now. Squadleaders that haven't given their team a name should do this asap so we can complete the tournament schedule.

Squadleaders should also inform their team mates of strategies/tactics if there are any. :D
