Yes, I went to see it, but only because my 9yr old daughter wanted to - honest
I thought it was so-so. She loved it. If you have a kid of a similar age then they will love it oo, particularly if they have read some of the books.
TL.
My wife took my daughter. I avoided it as I have had the "pleasure" of reading the books to my daughter <_<
if I can give you some words of advice they would be "Don't read the books if you are an adult" as they will drive you nuts with the constant lists of A-Z things and repeatedly saying "which here means" and then giving a long boring explanation for something that is obvious.
There is a good underlying story in the books but, unlike Harry Potter, they have not been written with adults in mind and eventually my daughter got bored with them too!
/me hands the dunce cap to BB
They are very much written with adults in mind, Mr. BB, and very good books they are too.
As for the movie, I refuse to see it because it'll make me want to hunt down and kill Jim Carrey, just like all his other movies do.
Mmm, how can I put this? They are dull and repetitive IMHO. The author repeats the same stock phrases throughout and reading a list of 26 things made to match the letters A to Z does nothing for me I'm afraid. I guess we'll just have to agree to differ :)
Oh and you can have your Dunce's hat back too :narnar:
...but I agree with you on the Jim Carey thing :D
