Title: Quests
Post by: Dr Sadako on January 19, 2005, 09:27:26 AM
Well are they? I am not completely sure. Sure I have only done about 5 of them but you get about 3000-5000 experience points and some money/potions.

Running around as a party last night rendered about 200,000 experience points very quickly. Seems like a better deal.

I have not bothered with quests at all unless someone says "you need A and B to do QQuest C" and I happen to have them in my inventory.  If that happens then I just go along and take the points.  But I am with you in my belief that they don't seem to be worth doing to help you level up, with the exception of the Beginner's Quest.  An extra 500,000 coins at L30 always comes in handy!

/me 23% shy of L30

Last night I did 2 quests in the Moradon town, 1 got me almost a lvl up. I got a quest from the big dragon there and it really helped me out to lvl up. It might be interesting for you guys aswell. You have to go inside an arena kind of thing and first you need to kill 5 orcs. This was good for some money and so an a bit of experience.
The second quest was to kill something like a Smilodon but a bit weaker. I teamed up with a fella in there and did about 15 minutes (I needed to kill a few of those beast to get 10 stones of it). Lots of Experience points!!!!

you need quests to give the game longevity. I don't know how many MMRPG's you guys have played but you will soon get bored of grinding xp every night. just to get to the next level. we should start organise a trip to a dungeon one night.

but i must admit some of the quest seem a bit silly just to get an extra 3000xp.

I'm on a  quest at the moment for a set of armour. but i need silan bones. anybody know where i can find them

Those quests are really for when you start out on own and just working way up.

I have changed my mind a bit.  Go to the .my site I referred peeps to and read the quest list.  It tells you what is available and what you need and what you'll get back for it.  Some, like the above, are worth doing as they are soooo quick and easy.

I have done the easy ones now and have just started the one which gives you 386,000 EXP points.  Trouble is having got the orders and found the Recon to pick up his item I now cannot see what or where to go next   Help!

/there were some *real* nasty buggers out in that region of the map too.  My L30 Mage skills didn't even touch their HP - I eventually had to TP to safety.

A Mage can teleport you (from about L12) and you can buy TP scrolls I have heard.

You can TP your self to the town: /town I think.
I have a gate thing which I can click so that I TP myself to the town.

Thanks, I'll check that out as it could save me a lot of wasted wandering around!  Shame really, because 380,000 or so EXP points would have given me another level :(

Anyone fancy getting a larger group together to see if we can damage one of those mega-strong monsters I mentioned?  We'd need a full-house party I reckon to deal with them

But remember: /town only works if you have more than half of your HP.

As a non-magic user, if you need to flee have a few handy HP potions on your skill bar. Neck as many as you need whilst running away, before typing /town.

Level 35 mage Escape spell does the entire party and looks handy if everyone's getting a beating.

Confirmed, the Reconaissance Quest is still broken for Humans.  Orcs can do the Quest, but Humans cannot as they cannot  'see' the scouts that they need to kill.  It is an open and as yet unfixed bug with very many people on the KO forums annoyed by it.
