After being an o2 Customer for quite some time (cellnet before that) and regularly upgrading my phone each year with a new contract i thought that would be the best place to go.
WRONG.
Because i am not a large user and dropped the tariff one lower in november they would not let me upgrade my phone with the normal upgrade cost (on the SE S700i) of £70 they wanted just under £200.
When pointing out that i have been with o2 and it's previous company for around 10 years the snot nosed little git said well maybe you shouldn't have dropped your tariff (smug little Sh*t) But if i was to give the nice people at o2 a ring im sure they may come to some arrangement. . . . . Bollox to your arrangement lets see what Vodafone do.... i said in dismay...to myself.
So i tottles off down to Vodafone where i nice pleasant and helpful young fella asked me if i needed some assistance.....to which i asked are you going to F**k me around like o2?
What a pleasant fella he laughed ... oh did he laugh and replied "No sir (Sir me :D) we will try and help you as much as possible"......well he didn't actually say that im just making him look good because he wasn't o2.
So for £18 a month (what i was previuosly paying on o2) i get:
100 free mins any network.. anytime.
100 free text messages
free weekend calls to any vodafone (and i beleive local landlines...not 100%)
And my loverly Sony Ericsson for ................................... £50
God bless Vodafone...
As i wanted to keep my mobile number i had to phone the crappy 02 and request a PAC code to give to Vodafone, now other Mobile phone companies will give you the PAC code there and then or send it on a text within 10 mins (so says the nice friendly fella at vodafone ...what a smashing chap) but NO o2 will send it in the post and i should recieve it within 5 days.....when asked could they send it by text i got told "No Sir we don't do that". Not a problem i will still get the deal but i have to phone the Nice, Friendly smart looking chap at Vodafone as soon as i get it.
My next though was right the Bas****s my missus phone is my name if they want to be i can aswell. So when i got home i phoned up o2 and requested the PAC code for the missus phone ...seeing as she uses hers a lot her tariff is a lot higher they wanted to keep that phone asking all questions of why i wanted to leave o2 and with 2 phones in one day. After a brief reply of just give me the gotdamn PAC code i was no longer an o2 customer (and with my temper neither was the missus :D)
Best bit 10 mins later beep beep one gotdamnsoddin PAC code from o2 for the missus phone THE B*****DS.
So she now has the Sony ericsson K700 with free car holder and Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset (which i now have and she can't find ...bless) for FREE and on the same deal.
So far the reception on Vodafone compared to o2 is superb, i have never had the signal bars below 3 of 5, on o2 it was crap.
The phone is Excellent.
Anyway i know that this is a long post BUT i just wanted to get it off my chest and you had to have it :D
o2 = SUX
Vodafone = Heavenly
Smite :ph34r:
I swaped to vodaphone today too they did a better deal then orange, they wanted £250 to upgrade my phone even though ive been with them 3 years. Well vodaphone is the same price and i got to choose my number sweet :). Plus half price line rental for 3 months lovely one's, i used to h8 vodaphone but the company has been completely changed a few months ago and everything is good :) Now how do i cancel my orange phone? :(
Could have told you that for free Smite. I have been with vodaphone for years and they have always been most helpful. The coverage is excellent and everytime I go and see them they try to give me a package that gives me more free time/messages and costs me less. Really can't complain about that sort of service at all!!
I'm with O2 on an old deal and there's no way I'm changing. I get:
0 texts
400 (yes 400) free minutes off peak and anytime weekend each month.
for...
wait for it......
£9/month :)
Cheapskate :P
Well it's the wife's phone and she uses it so rarely you have to send her a letter to tell her to check her email which says "TURN YER FRIGGIN PHONE ON I'M TRYING TO RING YOU!"
Same story here Smitey, sick of getting ripped off for crap 02 coverage, I switched to vodafone, havent looked back!

well, I'm with 3 and I get 500 texts and 50 anytime anynetwork minutes for ... £12.50/month :narnar:
I could've gotten 500 anytime/anynetwork minutes and 50 texts instead for the same price, but I don't make many calls :) Ah well, now all I need is a decent handset (got a free motorola a835 with the deal, and am tired of its bulk!)
