Im in the market for a new tv as my other one's on the way out does any1 have any idea's?

I really want a LCD tv that is wall mountable a good enough make and for under £1,000. Any one got any idea's? Ive thought about the Panasonic TX22LX2?

My idea:

Wait 6-12 months.  Seriously, the stuff just coming out will blow a current set into a different decade.

High definition Tv is just around the corner and if you by a Tv without a high def input (HDI) then you'll probably be feeling very sick in about 18 months time. Either wait or make sure you buy a high spec Tv with HDI.

That's true for DVD as well. Amazingly enough it looks like it  might be obsolete in a few years. High Definition Disks are on their way to compliment the new High Definition broadcasts. It's a minefield

... and if you are patient enough you can buy an OLED (organic LED) screen which sweeps the entire field.

All true, and to be honest, complete bloody annoying!!

I spent £230 on a new television last year, 28" widescreen thing.  I'll be damned if I'm buying another one until it conks out, or I win the lottery! :)

All these new things are coming along but it will take several years before they are mainstream. Look at how long it has taken DVD to become as common place as it is.
