I have a problem :( , when i startup steam it starts but i can not click on steam beacouse the icon is nowere. If i then try to start up steam again it says steam is allready running.
Then i have to start my whole comp back up :angry: and hope it workes then.
Can someone thell me how to fix this?? :dummy:

Sorry, not come across that one. You could try stopping steam from task amnager and then restarting it by double clicking steam.exe in your steam folder.
I used to get the same problem a long time ago when steam 1st came out, afaik it had been fixed, but maybe not. Unfortunatly I can't remember how to fix it, I can only guess at deleting the ClientRegistry.blob file & redownloading it. Hope it helps if not come back & we'll try something else.

Yea, my steams working fine, its not me thats having the problem is it, give your bro a slap & point him in the direction of his post. I looked all over the steam forums & the help section but I couldnt find anything relating to it. If he still can't get it to work I'd say backup his games using the steam backup utility & uninstall & reinstall steam & start over.

well i can get it to work but i have to startin offline mode then it works.
But thats not the normal way. so my steam stays offline.
But thanks all to for ;) the evert to help.
I'll come around and will try the BLOBfile first.
i had something like that before,
started steam then it dissapears but is still in the process list.
think its updating but doesnt want to tell ya :blink:
have u tried leaving it for 20 mins and seeing if it appears?

Thats way to long to wait, but now i don not let steam start automaticly, but i start it myself and now it works fine. So do not let it start when i start up my comp.
