Pay particular attention to the rules *and* the new anti-cheat tool being used.
There is a test server provided to make sure you are configured correctly.
I trie the test server. I gete:
Disconnected from server. Bad file!
any ideas? The map was dust2 and I play that OK on dMw servers
You DL'd and installed the ssClient OK?

Well, not much of installing is there. You just start the exe file and select the server. Worked for me instantly btw.
I did the same as Sadako but got the error message when I tried to join the server

Tried to DL it again? It could just be a corrupt download.

The file launches fine, I can double click the server to connect the ssClient to it but when I try to join the server to play CZ I get the error message from within CZ.

ah ... thought you got the message from ssClient. Going to try and connect as well. Brb for feedback.

From this I think we need to edit/add the path in some way. I get the same error message as you BB.
I'm starting to wonder if it is really worth it. <_<
What a pile of poo!
Oh and thanks for checking Mats.
out of interest (and my sanity), whats the path?

Aye that is the question. Keep looking. <_<
I had to edit the server list start command in ssClient to put the following as the startup line (you DO need the quotes):
"C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\email address\counter-strike\hl.exe" -game cstrike
However, it launches CS and doesn't connect properly as the program is too stupid to pass through the server details of the server you just double clicked and doesn't prompt for a password so I you will need a +connect and +password entry too.
Let me guess, we are going to have to edit the entry for every single server we play on UKCSL, if this is the case then count me out, I have better things to do with my life mad.gif
This suks, can't we just have CD or VAC, FFS we play for fun.
Oh I tried it with CZ settings too incase but get the same bad file error message. If anyone gets this working please post . I've just wasted 30 minutes of my life on something that doesn't work properly. If they want us to use this then they need to fix it otherwise I'm not wasting my life over it
UKCSL servers are CS only so you do not need to bother with CZ.
The plot thickens

SC: The Server does not allow custom models! Please reinstall!
Bad file
N.B. I dont even have that directory ... in any of my installed steam games.
I suspect it's caused by the fact that CZ owners automatically got newer CS1.6 models which the server is seeing as 'custom'.
I'm installing original models to check this.
Looks like it's the case ...
QuoteDescription
============
These are the original CS 1.6 models. If you are using CZ models or
other custom models, then you will need to install these models in
order to play on UKCSL Soundcheck enabled servers.
Installation
=============
In the .zip archive there are a bunch of model folders. Place these
in the following folder:
..\Steam\SteamApps\your@email.com\counter-strike\cstrike\models\player
Create the folder if it does not exist. If there are already model
folders there, then it is recommended that you back them up prior to
installing these models.

Your models were updated by CZ.
I installed the original model and connected OK first time. The ssClient console showed that 2 screenshots were taken and uploaded to the UKCSL server OK. I didn't notice any lag.
So to recap ...
Download the ssClient. (http://ukcsl.taa-gaming.com/downloads/anticheats/ssClient_2.41_UKCSL_Package.zip)
If you have CZ installed then Download CS1.6 models (http://ukcsl.taa-gaming.com/downloads/models/cs_1.6_models.zip)
Run the client and double click the UKCSL entry (no configuration changes are necessary).
Connect to the server (any UKCSL server).
i'll leave it

You were asking for more matches yesterday
OK, that seems to have fixed it but jeezus how many people has it taken to sort that out? They need to post better instructions rather than run the client and connect <_<
Oh, and the ssClient forums don't work under Firefox :( Well they do if you are happy with a 50 pixel high view of the forum :(

BTW, you don't need to put path to your HL.exe into the ssClient if you have downloaded the CS models. Just connect through server browser as normal once ssClient is running. <- maybe stating the obvious but I thought I would clarify
but can it be explained in laymans terms plz then i'll put it in
download client,
download cs1.6 models,
install models,
run client,
double click the 1 server in the client list to connect to their auth server,
open your steam server browser,
add the test server mentioned on the UKCSL website,
connect to it from Steam server browser
voila :)

CS
i get bad file up when connecting
Looks like you may not have put models in right place.
See here (http://forum.deadmen.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=8848&view=findpost&p=79126) for instructions.
right place ...maybe i'll delete some of the "aint sure wot they are" ones and try again
I also get bad file when connecting ...the files are in the right place ....should get another chance to look into tomorrow ...
:(
no still no joy
Yeah, may be worth atry. It might not like any custom models you have so you'll prob have to clear out all the "non-standard" models :(
like guns and stuff?
if so i wont bother.
cheers BB for the help..oh and u madness :(
Connected. And remained connected. Noticed some slight lag spikes though and at one point was running 30-40 choek for a while. Anything to do with the uploading of screenshots?
TL.
Can this thread be cleared a bit? Lots of English text for me.
Installing and downloading as we type.
Maybe the wrong thread for this.....but are we playing a CS league again ???????????????????

We've been in all four previous UKCSL events and, as they're well run and very competitive, it would not make sense to duck out of season five.
Successfully connected. :)
The server was really lag for me, 3 big lagspikes and even got me disconnected once from the server when I had a score of 9 as CT.... :(
Bumped for DA!! ;)
4 the UKCSLmatches (which are played in normal CS):

soz.....but Tuesdays just aint no good for me .....
:(
otherwise I would ....u know me !!!
;)
I know Mad, I know, we've lost this time only a little...
Yeah, it was a close game. If we had had 15 more people and they had been 50 years older I reckon we could have held them to a draw :lmfao:
Just a little update, as well as the models having to be original I also had to remove custom sprites that we're in my cstrike folder.
SteamApps/YourEmail/counter-strike/cstrike/sprites/
Soon as I did that I connected first time. Infact all I did was to rename the offending folder(s) by adding another letter to the end of them and Half life will no longer use the models/sprites in those folders. Also it make things easier when adding them back in again post UKCSL.
Consider me available. All I need to do now is play 1.6 again.
We still have our 1.6server online and people will join if you start up a game there.
