from the [dg] forum (http://www.downgraded.net/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=19) (dunno if it's got access protection though so here's our list of resource sites...)

Various links and useful resources for WoW.

US Official Site (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/) - Although this is US centric it has a lot of good info on it which the UK site doesn't.

Euro Official Site (http://www.wow-europe.com/en/) - Currently has limited info on it, but expect that to change as we near release.

WoW Stratics (http://wow.stratics.com) - Great fansite, lots of juicy info to chew on and features to play with.

WoW Allakhazam (http://wow.allakhazam.com) - Lots of good info, page can be quite slow.

Worldofwar.net (http://worldofwar.net/) - general fansite, good map.

WoW Warcry (http://wow.warcry.com) - Decidely average fansite, with some dubious info on it, but does have a very good atlas and a few other features that Stratics & Allakhazam doesn't.

ThottBot:WoW (http://www.thottbot.com/) - Lots & Lots of useful data.

Cosmos GUI (http://www.cosmosui.org) - The site is currently down but this is an updated interface for WoW, lots of cool features, works with the euro beta. (downloadable from Thottbot).

Teamspeak Server (http://www.downgraded.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=842) - See this thread for details.

Can not recommend this mod highly enough - brilliant.

But I had lots of problems configuring it, so found this extra mod solved the problem.  Give it a go if you're stuck:

That would be nice. It doesn't take that much bandwidth or CPU. I have run one from my comp while running WoW at the same time.

Maybe 2 could be nice. One for Argent Dawn and one for Aszune. I know the Aszune people use it. :)

One point to remember. Each mod has a .toc file associated with it. The first line of that toc file specifies the version number (currently 4222). If there is an upgrade (as there was this morning) make sure you change the number accordingly in the .toc file, or the mod won't work. Usually updates to the game leave mods functioning except for the version number conflict.

My recommendations are:

Monkey Quest - lets you leave a list of active quest on the screen so you can see how many kobold ears you still need to collect. Also great for when you have  loads of quests on the go.

Map Notes - allows you to add little notes to the big map, so you can find those ellusive quest givers quickly when you forget which town they live in, and claim your  prize of elven shoes of speedy whizzness or whatever.

Update to my post:

The version number is 4216 not 4222.

The game says the version number is 4222 but this is an error. Changing the toc file to 4222 will break the mod.

So as of 21.03.2005 the version is 4216. The next update will obvioulsy change the number.

Sorry for the duff info.

Silver Oak Guardians (http://www.silveroakguardians.eu.com/index.php) - Guild on Aszune, Europe, and home to quite a few dMw WoW players.  Fairly restricted access for non-members, but you can still post there.

A little out of date would be quite an understatement - I see Vargen is still lvl52 there, and I don't even find myself on the list :roflmao:

If you want a site with good and updated information about guilds and characters and such, may I suggest WarcraftRealms.com (http://www.warcraftrealms.com/).  It gives you the ability to search for both guilds and characters.

On the guild info, you can see all members, link to website and some other stuff, and on the character info, you can see that characters guild and leveling history.  The information also seems very up to date: an alt I started not too long ago became lvl18 2 days ago, and that is already noted (became lvl 19 yesterday, but that ain't there yet).

This link (http://www.warcraftrealms.com/guilds/86263) takes you to the page for SOG :)
