Title: Mining Vein Locations?
Post by: Jamoe on March 06, 2005, 10:27:19 AM
Although im still mining copper im struggling to locate veins (well not struggling but its a pain in the ass). I've been searching for a map that locats resources, ive looed in the forums (wow) for mining hints. I can find out which zones have a particular vien but not there locations.

Elwynne Forrest seems good for copper veins and ive about worked out a route to check all the spots. What im lookig for is a UI addition that will help me plot paths or show possible vien locations.

Anyone help?

I have seen a note pluggin, where i could add note to the minimap where each vein appears, but i havent yet tried it. I might give that ago, but i want something thats sharable so future miners can get more help. :)

Does your minimap not locate the mining points for you with a glowing dot?

Smites right. you have a locate  minerals skill in your skill book. when you activate it, it stays active until you die. as far as finding anything more interesting than copper. you have to go further a filed. the higher level zone you are in the better the resource. I normally just mine on my way round on quests. it seems to give me enough resources

yeap it does, but only when the vein spawns. I want to know where the actual veins might appear. Mainly so i can work out a route to take when im mining.

I used to be a miner .....before Maggie Thatcher shut all the pits

we worked some veins(we called them seams ) that were only 38 inches high !!!!

these same seams(or veins as u call them) were over 8 feet in China !!!!!
