Does anybody know of a good program that detects spyware and adware applications?
I use Spybot Search & Destroy to find and Spyware Blaster to block, but they only seam to stop or detect cookies. Or maybe only work best when installed on an already clean computer.
I'm looking for something that can tell me the spywares that are installed. Like those anoying aps that make browsing the web a nightmare. And even better, able to remove them.
It would need to be free.
Going through Ad & Remove Programs etc takes far too much time.
It would be nice if there was a stinger style adware remover
I use adaware available from Lavasoft (http://www.lavasoft.com/)
I use Microsofts Spyware removal.
Even though its from MS, its worked better than other tools.

there was an article in pc pro showing some hostility towards that program. Supposidly MS bought it out then stoped it from working on all older versions of windows.
Im looking for something that will work on 98 aswell.

Me too. Not expensive and works very well.
not expensive cuase i use the free version :P
ad-aware and spybot are what I am mostly using
I've moved from SpySweeper to PestPatrol. I used to have to kill the SpySweeper process before playing CS but no such problems with PestPatrol.
I also run the MS app alongside PestPatrol with no issues.
