Title: Leatherwork & Goods Needed
Post by: TeaLeaf on March 14, 2005, 04:22:02 PM
Hi folks!

My L23 Mage  (Teaelle) is on Aszune and is clocking up some reasonable skills in Leatherworking.  It is about to reach the 100 skill points level and the availability of some nice leather goods for the weekend (suit you, Sir) will I am sure be attractive to some of you!

Let me know if you are on the lookout for anything specific.  I will see what I can make for you.

In the mean time if there is anyone out there willing to enchant my current kit, or to tailor better kit or provide 10 slot bags (I could do with 4), then please let me know.

Party wise I have some pretty decent buffs now and some nice heavy damage AOE spells, so shout if you want to party.

I have three 10 slot bags sitting in the Auction house. Sadly we live in parallel worlds. I find asking in trade in Ironforge is a good isea. The auction house attracts lost of buyers and sellers and not ll of it happens in auction.

Aye standing outside the AH on the bridge telling what you are selling menas you pay no AH cots so much easier and then you get the money straight away. And now that i can make 12 slot bags.........

So, what's the chance that 4 of them turn up in my mail?

/Teaelle looks at his 8 slot bags in disgust

Slim I would guess. It takes 20 mageweave to create one bag ... so far I haven't picked up 20 of those in total in one month of playing. 10 slot bags are usually 50s in AH and 12 slot bags 2g (buyout in both cases). I think you need to either find a good grinding spot with monsters dropping mageweave or just buy the bags (or mageweave) in AH (I did that and tbh it pays off quick enough).

(1) 12 Slot Bag:

20 Mageweave Cloth
2 Silken Thread

You can buy the 2 Silken Thread about 3 Silver each
The Mageweave is very rare and you could buy 20 from the Auction house for around 1 Gold 50 Silver.

So as you can see rather expensive.

Mageweave is a regular drop on lvl 35+ beasties ( mainly humanoids ). I have about 85 of the damn things in my bank....but wrong server i'm afraid TL :(

Also, there is a great leathercollecting spot in the Hinterlands.........fly to Aerie Peak.....go east ....jump off the cliff ( there is a ramp but it's a long way around and it takes you via a dodgy temple complex )

Lvl44-50 Turtles that give :-

Speckled Shell fragments - 5 sell to trader for 45S
Turtle Shell fragments - used in leatherwork
Thick and ROUGH leather

From one trip and coming back with full bags i made 36G from the proceeds...well worth it.

Only problem is that you have to be tough enough to make the trip across the Hinterlands and unless you lvl 44+ it'll take a few people to get the turtles...but well worth it.

As a mere L32 Mage with the usual 'paper' armour, anything I attacked in the L44-50 range would probably laugh at me, tatoo 'Return to Sender' on my backside and then stuff me into a small C4 envelope before mailing me back to Ironforge.

......but when I get to that level I will go have a look.

Once you start moving towards the 250 mark you will notice that there are less recipes to do. As leatherworker you can choose three different paths for advancement.

1. Dragonscale leatherworking
2. Tribal leatherworking
3. Elemental leatherworking
