Half Life 2 came to a grinding halt at that stupid machine gun level where soldiers kept coming at you. I got THOROUGHLY peed off and and have abandoned HL2. Now what? I need a fps to while away the time between CS and LFS. Your suggestions would be welcome. The last good one I played was 'Chaser'
Not the latest but Riddick:Escape from Butcher Bay was fun.
The latest Splinter Cell has just been released as well :)

Splinter Cell never quite did it for me. Was it you that got me on Chaser? You or Greig, a Jock for sure. :)
Me probably. I liked Chaser. I tried Chrome afterwards but that is one to avoid. I think it is the hardest FPS I have ever played - I gave up in the end.
Played a bit of Riddick, looks promising. brb

If you mean the bit in the prison where they give you a bunch of auto-machineguns to set up I worked out a very devious way to get past that particular level... You see, you can pile up the crates and stuff to get up on the platform above the locked-gate exit on the right (relative to your original entry point to the sealed off area) and then take your time wiping out the soldiers. You can even take a few autoguns up top with you to help out and do the shooting if you like ;) Dunno if they meant to leave it accessible as the opposide side is blocked with invisible walls but it seemed like a good tactic to me!

Chaser was fun but Chrome is far better, as you say, bloody difficult but far from impossible, it just takes a bit of percevereance, most of the difficult bits require a method.
I'm going to tackle Invisible war again soon, never really gave it a chance before and Deus Ex 1 was such a great game.
Soldat looks ok but not tried the demo yet.
I've taken to re-aquiring Far Cry. I need something else.
Brothers in Arms is supposed to be ok innit? I know it's another war based pos, but apparently it's ok.

Brothers in Arms is not worth buying.
The AI is awful, it tries to hard to be dramatic and the hitboxes are the worst ive ever played with. For instance, people in cover cant be hit even if you aim directly for their drasticly sticking out limbs unless you flank them.
Its an iffy console port, unless you can borrow it or otherwise get a copy i would just play Call Of Duty over again.
Well done suicidal monkey. Now roaring away again. Who would have thought of that?
Don't forget SWAT 4 is due out mid-april. The demo's pretty spiffy.
