I still have no idea what a stoater is...Anyone who cares to explain?
A good one I believe is the definition of a stoater.
Depends on the context.
If the Scottish Football team scored a wonderful goal against Holland, one might say 'That was a stoater of a goal'.
If I saw an extremely attractive lady I might say 'She's a right stoater'.
It normally means something is good, nice etc...complimentary. As in the pic above ;)
Thanks guys, looks like my vocabulary (spelled correct?) is getting bigger.
LoL A stoater can also be "one who stoats the ba" roughly translated one who bounces the ball. This means (trying to put it politely) someone who may have had sexual relations with an underage person (kiddyfiddler)
SO She (if shes nice looking) is a stoater and if HE's a stoater it would mean summing totally different :eyebrow:
The Scottish vernacular is a wonderous thing,if ye really want tae improve yer Scots dialect tak a gander @ this
