Surprised no one posted a review yet
Saw it Sunday and highly recommend it.
Read quite a few reviews that were slating this, and you have to wonder why. Sounds like snobbishness on the part of the critics. Ticked all the right boxes, and was more Gladiator than Troy. Wasn't as good as Gladiator, but good in it's own right.
Bloom surpised me with how well he convinced, and the cast is mighty impressive. Especially the guy playing Saladin and his chief general. Jerusalem was just as impressive as Rome in Gladiator, and the fight scenes were well done.
Just goes to show that in the hands of a great director you can rescue a genre after so much dross in the last two years (Alexander, Troy, King Arthur).
Shows you why Ridley Scott is Britains most successful director ever in terms of the box office.
I saw the movie to. last week. And i liked it.love the genre :D
Kingdom of Two-Dimensional Characters more like.
Also, Kingdom of Ceaseless Brutality. With all the constant killing, by the time the final battle came along I was all "yeah, yeah... *yawn*"
It was good
yeah twas.
Although i didnt think Orlando's speeches came across as very heroic.
