Title: CZ shuts down the 'puter
Post by: MrHeineken on May 19, 2005, 12:17:31 AM
I have no idea why this happens all of a sudden, but after a short period of time playing CZ, it just shuts down the computer. Actually, it turns off the monitor and makes it impossible to turn on again or even Ctrl Alt Del back to Windows Desktop. The strange thing is that this happens on certain servers only; Meathook and DoGs server.

Clues anyone?

Did you install anything new lately?
Did you do a google ssearch for it.
Did you change any of your settings lately?

That's what I can come up with. For the rest I don't know alot about this kind of stuff.

The only thing I recently installed was a water cooling system. I tried again this morning and it worked on one of the servers I had problems with earlier. I guess it's just another thing I have to add to my "mysteries-of-life list."

Cheers anyway

Sounds like heat problems. The fact it tends to happen on your two most played servers makes sense when you think about it.

I was thinking heat problems as well, which is strange, because the new water cooling system is better than what used to be there.

This evening it happened again, but this time with an error msg about the graphics card. I can't remember what it said exactly, but it was something about the graph. card and it not being able to receive or perform a certain action.

Oh by the way, is there anywhere I can check the temperature on my graphics card?

Long shot, but had this on P4 board and turned out to be toasted VR's on motherboard. Also could be failing PSU.

Have a look here (http://www.x-tremepc.biz/datas/users/1-~ce18.jpg) and here (http://www.x-tremepc.biz/datas/users/1-~ce17.jpg)
